I really didn't want her to die but she had to. She was too evil. However, the whole Molly thing was ridiculous. Am I supposed to believe that a woman who has done nothing but knit and cook for the past 15 yeras or more suddenly turns into a super duelist? And no, being an angry mother isn't enough. Despite what JKR thinks just being a mother doesn't qualify you to be able to do anything.
I disagree. Despite primarily being a housewife, Molly was also part of the OotP. She was just as learned as any of the other members who weren't Aurors. Just because she chose to put her family before anything else, does not mean she wasn't a capable witch.
Bellatrix killed and harmed a lot of characters throughout the series. It's hard to say who "deserved" the honor of killing her more, but I feel that Molly was an excellent choice. We've always seen her as a more passive character, so to end her role in the story with a, "bang" so to speak, was really impressionable. It was also spur of the moment, seeing as Bellatrix had just sent a Killing Curse at Ginny, which made more sense than lining up another character(Neville) who was off doing something else to kill her wouldn't have made much sense.
On a side note, I chuckled to myself when Harry made to go after Bella instead of Voldemort, and he got knocked aside by Molly.
It would have been nice for Neville to have had the chance to avenge his parents, but I LOVED that Molly called Bella a bitch and ultimately killed her. Molly had been portrayed in such a mothering role to everone up to that time. She had fed and took care of the Order and Grimaud Place. It never showed her really fighting for the cause. So I'm glad she got to demonstrate her badass side!
but if Neville had done it, it would have been just as great.
Mrs. Weasley should remain a choice because we can discuss whether Jo was right in choosing her to do the honour of murdering that "BITCH".

You see, although it was a pretty awesome scene for both Molly and Bella, I wasn't quite satisfied with the fact that Mrs. Weasley, of all people, killed the infamous Bellatrix Lestrange.

Neville would have been such a cliche choice. Of course it was his right, but then it was a few other people's right to do it too. I like that Molly Weasley was the one that killed her because it was unexpected.
Forcing Bellatrix to feel remorse by staring into Neville's eyes? Torturing her into insanity? It never would have worked. One - she's already insane. Two - she would never feel remorse because she was completely consumed by her blind faith in the Dark Lord. You can't make true zealots feel remorse for their actions.
It would have been interesting if Voldemort had done it though. Not because of her advances, no. But because she got in the way. Say, she threw herself between Voldemort and Harry (this being in the case that she was not already dead by the time this duel happened) to block a spell that Harry cast, though Voldemort had already cast the Killing Curse to counter. Harry's misses, but Voldemort's is right on, thus killing his own best lieutenant. It would have been a strange form of justice, Voldemort killing his own Death Eaters because he was foolish enough to place his fate in the hands of others. You are correct in all this, but I still think Neville should've done it because Bellatrix has been "apart of his life" since he was a year old.
