he probably didnt tell her cause he didnt think he had a chance with her, specially after she started dating james and thats why he was hiding his feelings

He always hated muggle borns. And he was drawn to Lilly because her beauty and ellgance. I wonder why she was such a great potion maker?
He must of hated her for being muggle born but he himself was half blood. |

He hated James, and would be to scared and embarrassed to tell lily because James was cool, and snape was not.
A mixture of three of those. |
