This might sound like a silly question, but I was wondering, what is the major use of the Imperious curse? If you were Voldemort, and you needed a big job done, you have to maintain close distance with the person you are using the curse on, right? So why not do it yourself?

Just a question?

I don't think that you have to keep to a close proximity in order to maintain control of the spell. We didn't see Malfoy anywhere when he had Leeann under it. I suppose that he may have followed them, but the spell definately served its purpose. Malfoy would have been in a lot of trouble if he had been the one to deliver that package. We see this speel prove effective many times throughout the novels. Even Harry used it. Here is the lexicon page for the spell. It sxplains the times when the spell was used.

But doesn't it take a lot of concentration? Hmmm, maybe you're right. Just something that was irking me.

I think it depends on how powerful the castor is and how used to the spell he is.

Malfoy didn't have Leanne under the curse, Malfoy had Rosmerta, who had Katie Bell.

Anyway, this proves that you don't need to be close; Malfoy was in detention with McGonagall in Hogwarts while Rosmerta and Katie Bell were at Hogsmeade.

firstly... the Dark lord doesnt necessarily do this curse for himse;lf..

there were deatheaters to do this job..

secondly.. Dark Lord never came in open and killed people... if incase you wanted a job to be done inside mistry..or needed some information inside the ministry or any dpertment of isnistry.. this curse was helpful..

it was also helpful for making even good wizards do wrong jobs..

so.. i guess this was a powerful and dark curses... and as i said.. Dark Lord had people..his beloved death eaters to do it for him..!!!

and as kwiditch gave a wondeful example.. u dont have to be in constant contact with the person!!!

oh yeah, I keep thinking it was Leeann under the curse, but still the spell was a useful tool for Malfoy . . .

Quite obvious.

The Imperius Curse helped Harry a number of times in bad situations at Gringotts bank while they searched for the Hufflepuff Cup.

Read over the "Gringotts" chapter again in Deathly Hallows and see how useful it can be.

. . . or just look at the lexicon page that I provided. It gives many uses.
