while reading DH we find out that harry's cloak is actualy one of the deathly hallows right. well in other books it mentions that mad eye has an invisibility cloak, and from what i read, mad eye's hasn't faded or any thing. so does mad eye have another hallow (though i know this is impossible)? _________________ BM #8
"Ah, but the Third Hallow is a true Cloak of Invisibility, Miss Granger! I mean to say, it is not a traveling cloak imbued with a Disillusionment Charm, or carrying a Bedazzling Hex or else woven from Demiguise hair, which will hide one initially but fade with the years until it turns opaque. We are talking about a cloak that really and truly renders the wearer completely invisible, and endures eternally, giving constant and impenetrable concealment, no matter what spells are cast at it. How many cloaks have you ever seen like that, Miss Granger?"
Mad-Eye's cloak is probably the second - woven from Demiguise hair. In any case, Xenp says that it fades "with the years"; it could take 10 or 20 years or more, he doesn't specify how long it usually lasts. We only see Moody's cloak in book 4 and 5, so for as much as we know, he could of just bought it before book 4 and it's only been around for two years. _________________ "I can make things move without touching them. The second would NOT be demiguise hair.. it would be a bedazzling hex. But if it had a disillusion charm or bedazzling hex if it was done REALLY well by, say, dumbledore, wouldn't it likely last a long time?

No, it's just an invisilbity cloak... nothing special about it.. well, it was special, lol... but not a Deathly Hallow. Only three of those were made, one of of which was the cloak now belonging to Harry. _________________ ^made by Fiendfyre

Not necessarily. There's only three Hallows of lore. Dumbledore surmised that the Peverell brothers were likely just exceptionally skilled wizards that created the objects. Who's to say an exceptionally skilled wizard(or witch) couldn't create another cloak?
While I find it unlikely that Moody's was as powerful as Harry's, and likely was just done with a Disillusionment charm or something to that extension, I just thought I'd throw out a potential counter-side to that argument.

The Deathly Hallows is a story about the Peverall brothers...supposedly Death himself made it. Now, I'm not saying any of that is true... But there are only three Deathly Hallows. If someone were to make a powerful invisibilty cloak, then more power to them. But there are only three Deathly Hallows that are connected to each other.
We don't know much about the condition of Moody's cloak, so I can't say for sure whether there is a hole in it or not. _________________ ^made by Fiendfyre

My apologies, I understand now. I misinterpreted what you said. You meant that there are only three Deathly Hallows. In other words, if Moody's cloak were as powerful as Harry's, it wouldn't be considered a Hallow. Correct?

I counted Disillusionment Charm/Bedazzling Hex as one. In any case, Moody's cloak is described as "silvery", so it's probably not a travelling cloak, whilst Demiguises are "covered with long, fine, silky, silvery hair" (Fantastic Beasts) so thats probably what it is. _________________ "I can make things move without touching them.
