I know Rowling wanted to make Harry out to be The Most Special Boy In The World, but I find it highly unrealistic, even within the context of a fantasy story, for him to resist the Imperius Curse the very first time he is under it. Especially since the Death Eaters rely heavily on the Curse to infiltrate the Ministry, and fully-grown, fully-trained wizards and witches are completely susceptible to its effects. I don't care how good Harry is at DADA, he should not have been able to do that the first time.
well that's the greatness of a story.. It's just that a story. So if JK wanted him to be able to throw it off then that's how it is.. She is the author. And.. he is a really powerful wizard himself. _________________

harry is already talented on DADA and the imperio is about controlling someone's mind to make them do ur will, harry has a very strong mind and is anything but submisive, so he was never going to be easy to control
besides, he didnt manage it on the first try, he did it 4 times before getting it right _________________

No, I'm pretty sure he threw it off his first time. Imposter Moody told him to jump on the desk, and a voice in his head asked "Why?" When fully-trained Aurors have no resistance to the Curse, why should Harry get that voice in his head on his first try? And why isn't every single Ministry member not hired until they can successfully throw it off? I mean, that's how the Ministry was infiltrated in the first place.
there are some ppl that just cant do it cause they dont have that ability, just as harry couldnt do occlumency, no matter how hard he tried _________________

"Now, that's more like it!" growled Moody's voice, and suddenly Harry felt the empty, echoing feeling in his head disappear. He remembered exactly what was happening, and the pain in his knees seemed to double. "Look at that, you lot... Potter fought! He fought it, and he damn near beat it! We'll try that again, Potter, and the rest of you, pay attention – watch his eyes, that's where you see it – very good, Potter, very good indeed! They'll have trouble controlling you!"
"The way he talks," Harry muttered, as he hobbled out of the Defence Against the Dark Arts class an hour later (Moody had insisted on putting Harry through his paces four times in a row, until Harry could throw the curse off entirely), "you'd think we were all going to be attacked any second."
By the way, it should be noted that in this case, Harry knew he was going to be cursed. It's still quite a feat, but usually it's cast on people for the first time by an enemy and without prior notice, so most people have never had any experience with it before and are therefore subdued more easily. _________________ "I can make things move without touching them. Very good point !! I was going to bring that up myself. He knew what was going on and Harry had always been strong at heart and mind. Also, I don't believe the whole class got a chance to get cursed, correct me if I'm wrong, so you can't really point out it was only Harry who did it. Also, Moody was teaching other houses and years. So when the voice told him to jump... he questioned it. It wasn't like he got it perfect and we don't know how the rest of the class did at first. We do know that it took him several tries to perfect it, though. Well, after living with 7 books of Harry's uberness (cough) I am not surprised that Rowling gave him this ability. I'm also quite surprised by how she restrained herself from making him able to use wandless magic, non-verbal spells and Legilimency since his 2nd year. In DH one of the death eaters said that he was having trouble with someone he was trying to imperio because he was too strong minded. There you go! It's not just Harry!
