I've just watched Ali G Indahouse nd was wondering whether anyone knew if the Prime Minister in it plays Dumbledore in the films? He just sounds right, and with more hair I can picture him like it.

Ooooh, that is Michael Gambon in that film...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0284837/fullcredits#cast

Michael Gambon, like Barrytrotter said, plays DD in the movies from PoA on. He took over when Ricahrd Harris, this original DD, passed away.

Want to hear something horrible? I think I posted this in another thread... but I'm not sure... anyway..
I remember seeing SS and CoS years ago for the first time on tv and thinking, wow, that dude sounds like he going to die and second. Because, you know, his voice was all old-sounding and stuff. Like he was struggling to get the words out. I feel terrible years later when I became a fan and found out he did die. Sad

Richard Harris was absolutely perfect for the part of Dumbledore. I feel Michael Gambon was too loud and not as gentle and caring as Richard Harris came across. However, as I'm watching the 5th film now, I see he's changed since the POA and GOF films and i think he's finally fitting into the part of Dumbledore right.

However, Richard Harris didn't deserve to get cancer, i think it was.
He set off the first two films in the right direction.

lol, don't feel bad. I always thought that is voice was inhumanly soft myself. I felt like each word was a challenge foe him, and I didn't understand how a person could speak so softly.

Personally, I never noticed it wasn't the same actor until I was about 12 and began to rewatch the movies
