A Year Prior:
“Throw down your wand and stand up. Do not make any sudden movements.”
Draco twisted in bed, lurching upright. Two wands were pressed into his neck, none too gently. He caught a glimpse of two hooded figures in the pale moonlight.
“You are suspect in the disappearance of Hermione Granger. Do not resist.”
“But, wha-”
A moment before the Stunning Spells came; he caught a glimpse of red hair under a hood, and a waxy black hair and glasses under another. Framed.

The dark chill of Azkaban was worse in the winter. The tiny, dank cell was bitter cold and the ground was damp and unforgiving. A dark lump was slouched against the wall, still, and barely breathing. Shivering, the figure pulled himself upright and crawled to the bars, croaking hoarsely and desperate. “Please, y-y-your honorable guard..a blanket. I n-n-need a blanket..”
“Shut up inmate!”
“P-p-please- ”
“Crucio!”
With a grunt of unimaginable pain, Draco Malfoy fell to the ground.
