because I truly believe that he will bring positive change, whether directly or indirectly (through other good people), in the US and beyond. He has shown good judgement (i.e., Iraq war), and he has responded and bounced back from media-fed controversies that do not have anything to do with the big issues.

Hopefully this primary will be over SOON!

I just want one of them to drop out as quickly as possible so that McCain doesn't take the presidency uncontested and throw some gasoline onto the burning remnants of the United States after the Bush monarchy. Logically, Clinton should drop; she has the least delegates and her coalition is designed to fail against McCain's.

For a certain grammar skill-deprived individual who sent me a charming Private Message about Obama winning only because he is African American and because of the black vote (in NC), I'd like to inject one additional bit of information:

My home state includes a predominantly white (80%) population, and the black population is less than 4%, yet Obama got 68% of the vote.

Is being illogical a symptom of being in an election season?

I'm curious as to who the grammar skill-deprived individual is.

Heh, I too would like to know who this happens to be.

No, the vast majority of people are illogical outside of election season as well. People are just less ashamed to flaunt their ignorance when it's about a politician.

In my school, a group of bullying, hotheaded, and plain rude and mean kids are honestly chanting that Sen. Obama should win because "he isn't a bitch" and that "he's a black homie". They make me sick.

Different setting, same scenario.

He may have mistakenly said "57", but I don't see this drawing UN attention. Why not? Because its nothing.

Draw connections if you wish, people. You'll focus on what you want to focus, while others will try to make productive arguments.

Oh, and I'm from WA, btw. I await another crude generalization.

oh just bc WA is on top of OR is no reason to wanna play top dog.

and i think it was an interesting coincidence... i mean the chances of him actually meaning that is like zip to none but still... 57 huh. it makes me think. do you know what continent your on?

and you know what, even if i was a dem, obama would never get my vote with all the things that have came up on him. that and he isnt gonna step one foot in eastern OR. to me he's saying im too good for you. (and those who are gonna say nah uh! hes gonna be in bend this week, bend is central not eastern.)

plus all of his policies that hes raving cannot be done... unless your a dictator... and since everyone says bush is, do we want another one of those. has anyone listen to what hes purposing?

What? No...I'm merely answering Chosen7one's question. It wasn't meant to express geographic superiority. Sheesh.

Of course we have listened or else we wouldn't be siding with him. Hilary is more of a dictator than obama, most of her policies should be considered tyranny. McCain's policies are nonsense, Obama is the best candidate in my eyes.

well fine i guess my pun is useless now.

and to hes the best canidate, do you even think he can get the things hes saying approved??? how the hell do you think its possible that we are gonna to be not running off oil in a 4 to maybe 8 presidency? or shrink oil prices when he wants to regulate the companies more, which regulation and putting big strains on oil companies does not help the prices. also, believe me, there is no way he will 'immediately' withdraw troops from iraq. its not realistic. his policies are not realistic, their up in the clouds with rainbows, aint gonna come true unless he gains super duper dictator powers like hugo chavez. also, if he does withdraw immediatly with the soldiers.. garuntee more will be killed in that process than the last 6-7 years we have been in iraq.

Simple, we won't have a president who thinks that science and technology are the work of the devil. We won't have a president who calls new tehcnologies immoral or evil, and we won't have a president that basically wages a war on science.

Alternate energy sources will vastly decrease the price of oil, because the demand will go down - they won't have a monopoly on car energy anymore.

That's erroneous. He wants to withdraw them in 100 days (or around that time-frame) not immediately.

Evidence? Oh right, you don't like to use that.

oh so when regan wanted to advance our science it wasnt okay by you guys? hypocrits.

think realistic. do you think this will be done in 4 to 8 years? or any headway at all? sure we're making advancements but i dont see us finding alternative resources that are efficient enough to go through. or cheap enough for that matter.

okay if my ass gets deployed between now and then, i hope that doesnt go through because i will still most likely end up dead. this is a gradual thing and 100 days isnt enough. but you would never understand that.

oh wait, so everything that he says for his campainge add in oregon is a lie? just like everything else in the dem party? dont surprise me.

I wasn't alive during the Regan presidency, so don't try to put that on me. Regan's social policy was alright.

There already are. If we had a government that wasn't so pro-oil, they'd be on the market already. The only thing keeping you from a solar-powered car that's more efficient than the one you have now is Dick Cheyney.

I find that everyone who says 'gradual decrease of troops' usually means 'we're not leaving.' We need a schedule, and 100 days is more than enough.

I'm trying to decypher a meaning from this garble of psuedo-english, and it's quite difficult. I have no idea what 'he' (I'm guessing Obama) said in his campaign add in Oregon, and it's irrelevant to what we were talking about. We were talking about using evidence to support your facts. You claimed that there would be more deaths than ever if we left Iraq, but you have no evidence to support this. Now (it appears) you're claiming that everything the Democratic party says is a lie. Not only is this easily disproveable, but you also have no evidence to support it.

Those of you who do not live in the U.S- I'm really curious how you and those around you are reacting to our election. Is there a lot of dialog or debate about the candidates or your hopes for the next president?
