I agree that they should have made the Tonks and Lupin relationship more real, however you seem to forget that she isn't really an important character and don't say she is because in the books she's a minor character. _________________

Well she`s not, but I think her relationship with Remus IS. And it sucks that it won`t be shown in the movie. _________________

WEll, if they're only scheduled for that one scene, then they might not be in there. You never know what might not make it past the cutting room floor . . . especially with this yahoo of a director. _________________ What luck for ruler that men do not think. ~ AH

I don't think they'll edit that scene out because it's the only scene that they're in, assuming this interview is completely factual. They would still have to pay the actors full salary for the work they did even if that scene isn't in there. I don't think the producers would allow for that. It's not like cutting out a scene with Daniel in it or a bunch of extras. Cutting out the only scene David Thewlis is in and still paying him would not go over well with the prodicers. HP is a big budget movie series because they're smart about it, and that would not be smart. Plus, isn't this the same scene where the Burrow gets attacked? Not that I'm pleased with this huge change of events at all, but it seems like this is a scene they can't cut... not that Yates would care... showing up to Hogwarts out of their uniforms. Honestly... _________________

I don't think that your first reason was right. As you said, they will be paid for the work whether they get cut or not. The producers don't care what gets cut as long as the movie is successful . . . so that one doesn't go over so well for me.
I do agree however with the second bit. I wasn't thinking about the fact that during this scene the attack takes place. That scene is rather a big deal, apparently.
Also, I know that I hate the fact that they wear muggle clothes so much. As if showing at Hogwarts with them on isn't bad enough, we've now seen prrof that they're wearing them in the common room during down time! This is horrible. I can't believe that I had high expectations of the movies once upon a time. _________________ What luck for ruler that men do not think. ~ AH

I wouldn't expect them to be in their school uniforms during down time, hence the purpose of downtime.
And I might have emphasized the monetary reasons too much, but I still stand firm that they are not going to cut popular characters out of the movie like Tonks and Lupin, in effect cutting out the actors, for time purposes. It's contractual. They're not going to be allowed to waste an actor's time like that, I doubt even the HP film makers would make that grave mistake. _________________

They're just not supposed to wear muggle clothes at Hogwarts!
Also, I don't think the mistake is that grave. For some reason, I don't think it's in their contract that they have to appear in the film just because they made the scenes. I actually think that it would be opposite. Their contracts most likely say that there is no obligation to WB to include them in the film if they feel that the scene should be cut. _________________ What luck for ruler that men do not think. ~ AH

Why can't they wear muggle clothes at Hogwarts? Hermione, Harry, Dean, they all grew up wearing muggle clothes, why shouldn't they be allowed to be comfortable during their free time if they so choose to be. We know the Weasley children have muggle clothes. Their mom makes them sweaters every year, that's pretty muggle as opposed to "robes." Maybe that's what they feel comfortable wearing. JKRalways described them as being in their uniforms because they were usually just coming out of class or something. But for the movies sake, it doesn't bother me. Like in, OotP, when they're in the Common room, nothing states thatthey had just come from class or anything, it was just a bunch of students hanging out. So it seemed mroe normal to me that they would be wearing regular clothes and not their stuffy uniforms.
For the books it worked, In the movies, although, yeah, it sucked sometimes... it didnt' bother me all the time, just the times where it created inconsistancies, mainly.
It would mean their time would be compleetly wasted when they could have been off doing other movies. In the end, it would only screw over the WB, if, say, Ralph Fiennes decided to not come back because it was a waste of his time during filming the last movie. _________________

They wear Robe in the wizarding world. Sweaters are the exception, but they wear those to keep warm. They always have robes on in the different scenes in the books, and they don't wear uniforms. They don't even wear dresses to the youle ball. They wear dress robes. It irks me to no end that they don't wear robes in the movies very often. It almost makes it pointless for them to wear them when they acrually do.
It's such an easy thing to do right, but they take the laxy way out instead. _________________ What luck for ruler that men do not think. ~ AH

No, I agree that muggle clothes are different than taditional wizarding robes, but I think it would look weird unrealistic they wore their school uniforms during their free time. We know Ron and Harry wear jeans and stuff sometimes.. I would assume they would wwear them when they wanted to if they could instead of their stuffy uniforms. _________________

lol, imagine Rupert Grint in traditional wizard robes? That would be awesome to see...
In the books they're always descibed as wearing uniforms or muggle clothes, jeans and the sort... maybe the robes are for the adults? _________________

^ Later of I'll get in the books and pull out some quotes. I'm telling you, muggle clothes are specifically for the muggle world. _________________ What luck for ruler that men do not think. ~ AH
