Just wondering but i wonder what ever happended to the sword, did Harry take it? (doubt it), did neville keep it after slaying neginie(maybe), or was it returned to hogwarts school and kept in the headmasters office? or somehwere else? ur thoughts on the matter?

The sword was Godric's and he left it to the school for use if anyone needs it. I think it's still in there, in the headmaster's office, I would think. Or maybe the Gryffindor Common room, now. I dunno, but I bet it's in teh school somewhere.

Dumbledore left the sword to Harry in his will. I'd like to think that Harry gave it back to Hogwarts.

The thing is, it wasn't Dumbledore's to give to Harry, though. It didn't belong to him, really. It belonged to the school, despite who the Headmaster is. Look what happened, the goblin got it, and it still came back to the school. It will always belong to the school, no matter who tries to walk away with it. That's my thoughts on it, anyway.

They can't give it to the Goblins. It belongs to any Gryffindor in need and belongs to Hogwarts. Goblins believe once they sell something, they'll get it back once the witch/wizard dies. They see selling as lending out but Wizards passed it down generation to generation which made the goblins angry because they seen it as stealing.

He donated it to help feed the hungry house-elves. How noble! Very Happy

I think that they would leave it at the school, because that was its rightful place.
When dumbledore gave it to Harry in his will, i dont thik he expected him to have it, all he was trying to do was let harry know that it could destroy the Horucruxes.
And is there actually any point for someone to keep it anyway?
It seems that when someone does get ther hands on it, the hat just springs it right back into hogwarts.

It wasn't theres to give to the school guys, they were just borrowing it from the school. Don't you remember Dumbledores will ? He purposely tried to give it to the trio because he knew they would need it but they couldn't have it because it belonged to the school.

That's what I said... but no one listens to me, either. Sad

I voted for the school. Although, this will sound really stupid but I think Snape should have been buried with it. Yeah, I know he was Slytherin but he showed courage and selflessness and many qualities that Gryffindors should have. In the end, he helped Harry defeat Voldy. Every time he went to a meeting with the Death Eaters he faced the thought of death as they could have found out he was a spy.

He didn't do it because he wanted to he did it because he loved Lily and that was the only reason. If he would have never met Lily he wouldn't have turned a spy. So, no, he didn't deserve it. =[

What ggod would it have done for him to be buried with it, though? The next time a student needed help, it would be magically yanked from his coffin, anyway. For arguments sake, let's say the sword was to be buried with someone... I certainly wouldn't choose Snape over Harry or Neville, anyway. But yeah, I really think that sword is at the school where Godric Gryffindor intended it to be.

I vote that it stayed with the school too.

Side note: I read the end of the book so quickly when the Battle for Hogwarts started... I'll have to go back and do it again more slowly.

How did Nevelle get the sword back from the goblins?

Su: How did neville get the gryfindor sword, is there a link to the hat
J.K. Rowling: Yes, there is very definitely a link to the hat!
J.K. Rowling: Neville, most worthy Gryffindor, asked for help just as Harry did in the Chamber of secrets, and Gryffindor's sword was transported into Gryffindor's old hat -
J.K. Rowling: - the Sorting Hat was Gryffindor's initially, as you know.
J.K. Rowling: Griphook was wrong - Gryffindor did not 'steal' the sword, not unless you are a goblin fanatic and believe that all goblin-made objects really belong to the maker.
