It’s the start of a new month, and time for a new batch of rumors regarding a possible description of the teaser trailer for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” While there have been several floating around on the net in the past few weeks, TLC has received a description that is of some merit. The report says again that the trailer is still tentatively attached to Prince Caspian/Narnia on the 16th, and that the trailer will clearly show the darkening tone of the series, “with footage of the attack on the Burrow” as evidence of this. Reportedly, trailer shots will include a taunting Bellatrix, Draco on the train, Slughorn, Snape in a pivotal moment, Dumbledore in the cave, and clear evidence of the developing Harry/Ginny relationship. There are also quick glimpses of Quidditch, the Trio, and a bit of humor from Ron. Please note: As exciting as this sounds, please keep this very much in the rumor category for now. We are hopeful that WB will be releasing photos and more information on a trailer in the coming days, and will update with more on this when we can.

I liked the first Narnia but I'm definitely only going to see Prince Caspian b/c of the trailer.

Happy Feet had the trailer for OotP, and that movie came out in the US In November... November 17, 2006, to be exact... 7 months (about) before OotP hit the US.
Caspian is coming out in May... that's about 6 months until HBP comes out. Only a one month difference.

maybe it's a scene added in... or maybe that rumour is flawed. I dunno, but I don't like the sound of it....

David Barron Confirms New Scene Added to "Half-Blood Prince" Movie

As some of you may know, there have been rumors floating around on the net for sometime now regarding a new scene added to the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film. In a new interview with Australia’s Herald Sun, producer David Barron confirmed that there will indeed be one new “pivotal” scene added for the sixth Harry Potter film “set at Ron Weasley’s family home (aka The Burrow), that wasn’t in the book.” In the interview, David Barron does not give away details of this scene, but says it was added with Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling’s full blessing.

David Barron’s full quotage is as follows:

“We don’t often have things that aren’t in the book,” producer David Barron told The Back Room.”But this was brought in because Jo (Rowling) was able throughout the quite lengthy book to keep dropping little snippets of what was happening in the outside world-there’d be people reading newspapers and talking about how somebody’s parents had been killed or somebody had been withdrawn from school because their parents didn’t think it was safe. And we’re made aware that the Muggle world is also experiencing these disasters, but thinks they are disasters rather than the work of Voldemort. The book is peppered with those moments, but we couldn’t do that quite so easily in the film. So (the extra scene) comes in the middle of the film and it just reminds us the world is no longer a safe place. Even in what would normally be considered the safe haven of the Burrow, nobody’s safe. I think you’ll like it. It’s quite effective.”

I thought everyone knew about this? We discussed it here on Potterforums.

We'll see.

They changed a lot in the other movies too... you guys know that.

Like in GoF... who gave gillyweed to Harry in the book... Dobby... in the movie... Neville.

Lots of sub-plots have been annihilated thus far.
