will yes but harry and ginny is harder to say because what he siad at the end of book 6 she is in to much danger around harry voldemort mite us her to weaken harry

i think it was a plain saying that ron meant nothing about it, but is jus tthanking her, but i do think something is going on with them, even though they have been fighting throughtout the whole series....almost

Ron was neither being serious nor being friendly with Hermione when he said that.
He just said that to show how grateful he is with Hermione doing his essay. He probably thought that saying "thank you" was not enough. |

the hints that ron and hermione will be together have been going on since the second movie. some people think it will be hermione and harry, but the things that she does to harry is like best friend stuff.
1. ron and hermione shake hands, when with harry she hugged.
2. hermione grabs ron's hand when it looked like harry would get attacked by Buckbeak.
3. ron gets jealous because hermione is going to the yule ball with Victor Krum.
4. ron gets kinda mad when hermione writes letters to Victor Krum.
5. hermione gets really jealous when ron is going out with Lavender. |

I thought JKR already settled this? Ron and Hermione like each other. While I admit it is a crazy relationship, it appears to be the case that they like one another.
Odd match up: hermione totally brilliant, ron totally less than brilliant; herm is an earnest reader with proper manners and ron hates books and eats spilling everything from his mouth. And that is just the beginning.

I mean, wouldn't it be boring if the guy Hermione likes would be as proper and studious as she is? |

Yes. It's only the movie stuff.
To me the 1st hint is during the 1st visit to Hogsmeade in 4th year. Harry asked if Hermione actually wanna go with Ron instead (Harry and Ron're havin' a kinda cold war that time), and Hermione "blushed" or something.
And I think the 1st reli obvious and telling clue is the Yule Ball.

well he's never even said he loved her as a mate before...I think they've reached a new level of comfort with each other that will make the transition a lot easier when it finally comes.

Exactly. Unless there's no room for them to come together in the final book. Too much might be going on. 
Anyway, back to the subject of the thread, I'm not sure how Ron meant it to be honest. While I have no doubt he's in love with Hermione, that part of the chapter was confusing. |

number 5 is pretty much telling you that Hermione likes Ron, especially because she makes the little birds attack him after she sees Ron and Lavender snogging. |

I think it actually started in the CoS at the very end in the movies, but there was not really a clue in the book. i wish the books had been taken ver batum for the movies.

well..i thought it was kinda obvious and in the HBP when Ron goes off at Ginny after catching her and Dean kissing...she tells him that Harry kissed Cho and Hermione kissed Viktor..just cos Ron never kissed anyone etc.
Ron was soo grumpy at Hermione for no reasonable reason and he went out with Lavender and made such a big thing of it to make a point...
..AND Hermione was jealous
