I completely agree.

Yes but as the books have progressed they have become more and more focused to adults so there is a possibility that harry will die

Actually, while we don't know if Harry will be dead or not, JKR has stated that additional important characters will die before the end and that she has already written the last chapter of Book 7, which tells you what becomes of the characters who survived. I personally don't want to say whether Harry will live or die, as I just want to watch the story unfold as it comes from JKR's mind, but I am eager to see who does live and die in the end. Either way, we should be finding out NEXT SUMMER! Ugh! Must we really wait this long?

That's how all ancient playwrites and authors ended their works, right? Everyone dies? So it has to be something of the same sort...

Are we saying Ancient or MOST popular playwrites besides HP is not a playwrite series its a book and not very many authors choose to end a book that way.

Why would they be happy when Harry dies? Or do you mean that they would be happy when Voldie dies??

There are 2 things writers usually take into consideration when writing a book.

1.Make a lot of money
2.Gain critical acclaim

I think J.K wants us to think Harry is going to die in the last book but find some weird way to keep him alive.

So if Harry dies, critics will bash the book for doing something obvious. If Harry lives, through some clever writing, Critics will praise the book. People will buy the books despite whatever ending the book will have, since they have to read the book to actually know what the ending is.

that is crap... the crits , well, they dont hate the book, but they are not fond of it either... they say it has nothing educational and that there is no deep vocabulary and all that crap...

....Right?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I never actually thought about that... Surprised

I don't think that Harry will die, however I do feel that Neville will play huge part in the death of Voldie.

Yes have you noticed how Neville gets mentioned more and more in the books as he gets older. He has become a great help and it is not the scared little boy that he use to be.

I think that Harry will probably die in the end. Here's how I imagine the ending to book 6: Harry and Voldie will have their huge, dramatic show down, and in the end Voldie will die, along with a slew of other characters (I'm thinking Draco for some reason Confused). However, Harry will have been drastically wounded in the battle, and dies in the arms of his friends.

...but what do I know! Very Happy

The final book is going to keep us on the edge of our seats no matter what.....But the idea of Harry dying is hard to swallow. In the old "classics" however there were not happy ending. That is the intriguing part...... As for Harry Potter being the "new classic", it is the one book that finally got kids reading again. They put away their games and toys and picked up a book instead. To me, that says a lot! Cheerleader

Judging by what Rowling said recently (read DarMonkey's thread in the Great Hall: 'JK says killing Harry will keep others from writing sequels') it looks like Harry will end up dying. She keeps hinting at it, and now she's saying she's going to kill off two characters, so it might be Harry. Besides, heroes don't always stay alive till the end. We'll find out when the 7th book comes out.

I think a lot of people would be disappointed if he dies, mostly a lot of the younger readers. But, we have to keep in mind, all the other 6 books they're has been so sort of tragedy....This being the last book, it's going to have the most tradegy of all. All in all, it's still a Harry Potter book, it still will be awesome.

I just cannot see Harry dying, i mean he is HARRY POTTER! I could definitely see Neville, Luna, Ron, or *tear tear* Hermione dying but Harry, not at all. I have a feeling someone will sacrifice themselves to save Harry, sort of like his mother did.

Yes, he is Harry Potter. But he's mortal and can be killed. It makes no difference that he's the main character. J.K Rowling might do just that, she keeps hinting at it.

Siddhu, exactly, why would she ruin the book for everyone? She is either messing with our minds or giving us something to talk about until the book comes out.
