i believe that religion is man made to keep order within the masses. when you look at the 10 commandments not once does it say something like thou shalt not put butter on toast for it is evil...

it says dont kill, steal, etc.

i am a witch that uses the christian gods/goddess to aide in her spellwork.

spirituality is of god

religion and church is of man

My irl bff had problems with her boyfriend for a similar problem... she was Roman Catholic, he was Catholic Orthodox. he wanted to get married in his church where they were still reading teh bible in Latin and all that... she wanted to get married at her church or a reception hall. Her main reason was.... I couldn't be a bridesmaid at his church because I'm not Catholic.

I'm...well I don't know what to call myself. I was raised methodist, so that is where I come from, and that is where I start constructing what I think. I do not believe, and really can not believe everything in the Bible. There are things of worth still in it though, so I sort of sift through what it says and my church says and decided what I agree with basically. If asked to put what religion I am on forms I put Methodist for sake of simplicity.

I don't believe God is perfect (if he was why did he change tack and send Jesus instead of floods and meteors? he realized he can't give us free will and then kill us if we use it, so he set up another path for people to take. oh and why would sun give us cancer?) but I don't have a problem with that. I'm sure he's far closer to perfect than I'll ever be.

That being said I don't even know if I believe in Jesus. But I don't know if it really matters if he was real or not, as long as people think he is. He had a good message, and I prefer it to most of the old testament doctrine.

I don't know if I even believe in heaven and hell...but if they do exist christianity is just one path to get to heaven. I've never like the idea that only Christians can get there, it seems cruel unfair and dishonest (he promised the jews he would never abandon them) and I don't want to believe that.

I do believe there must be something after death, because I believe in the soul (why else would be appreciate art and music? it has nothing to do with survival). Reincarnation makes the most sense to me (since matter moves in a cycle) but I'm not really sure I like that idea lol.

i used to be catholic, because my parents are so quite devotedly, but i left that path when i was around 14

now i believe in god and nothing else, because i cant believe just one religion is going to be the right one or have all the answers, and they all make too many mistakes for my liking, just as it should be given the fact that they are organized by humans

i believe in a creator, but not necisarily a god. i'm anglican, but i'm not sure if i agree with christianity. i don't really like the idea of religion in general. if god created us he/she/it created us to live out lives, not to spend our whole lives down on our knees worshipping him/her/it. but that's just my oppinion, i'm not going to tell people they shouldn't pray or anything, i just don't like to pray myself.
the fact that there are so many different religions and beliefs makes me slightly sceptical. there are so many possible answers to all these deep life questions i've decided i no longer even want to know the answer. i'm not athiest i'm just not particularily religious.

Isn't Scientology where celebs think aliens will come and rescue them to a new planet when the world implodes? Confused

I was brought up Catholic, but upon researching the things that the Catholic church is involed with, I left. Now I believe whatever the most qualified evidence and logical devices lead me to. As far as spirits/souls/magic/fate/gods/supernatural-beings and the like go, I've seen nothing to convince me.
