According to Schott's Almanac, Goblet of Fire is the most unfinished book of all time. I've read it all the way through about once or twice, but I've started it many times and not finished it. What do you think?

OMG, I've read it only three times, but I have definately started to read it without finishing tons of times. The problem is that there are so many things that happen and get resolved. Then Harry has time to relax before the nest issue. It's easy to lose interest. The first time through, I was glues to it. The other two times were rather forced. This is my least favorite of the serious . . . although, it's still a stroke of genius.

Does the Almanac mean unfinished literally? Or just not completely polished? I just find it so hard to believe that a series as popular as HP would actually be in an Almanac for being the most unfinished (literally) of all time.

^ I'm pretty sure that she means that people don't finish it.

Here is something I found that lists GoF as second most unfinished book of all time.

I find that so strange, that a book from the best series in history is so often unfinished. That's so weird.

I don't think it's strange. There are a lot of people who are not avid readers or don't enjoy fantasy at all. Those people can easily get through the frist three books, but GoF is significantly longer. They just can't stand reading long books, so they give up half-way through it.

Also, it does belong in the book section, but a lot of people confuse the movie and book threads. Some mod will come along and move it, eventually.

i have a lot of friends who did read the three first and GoF but stopped there and didnt read anymore, i think OotP is much more difficult to go through if you dont like reading that much

they mean people don't finish reading it

and well this would be because its the worst book of the series lol. and I think a lot of people anymore would rather watch the movie than read the whole thing.
