| The Black Parade lead singer is gothy and Panic At the Disco are my favourite goth band! |
The Black Parade is actually a stage production the band My Chemical Romance used as a gimmick for the release of their third record. They performed as The Black Parade for the promotional tours, but now only play as themselves. The lead singer's name, just in case you wanted to know, is Gerard Way ... and although he is a bit "gothy," I believe I read an interview with him once saying he detested the term. In any case, to be completely anal about it, MCR are more screamo cabaret than anything, which I suppose could be a sub-genre of the current "goth movement."
Panic! at the Disco is actually not considered to be goth ... I'm not exactly what they like to be called. All I know is they rip their lyrics from the molesation of Chuck Palahniuk books, yet put on a pretty interesting theatrical show. ... but theatrics do not equal "goth."
Sorry if that sounded a bit harsh ... I just couldn't help myself from replying. |
If it weren't you it'd be me xDDD |
Hah, i was thinking the same, Panic at the Disco goes by pop-punk and indie. |
Not even indie or pop punk.
Pop punk is a bit more energetic.
Truthfully with their new cd especially, they're making more of a retro genre. Reinventing music as we know it. _________________
