this is probably the most irritating part of the movie for me. First off, stupify is supposed to be a red jet of light hitting the person and knocking them out or stunning them, not the 100th knockback spell to be shown in the movies. My favorite spell impedimenta was more like wingardrium leviosa, and harry isn't supposed to be able to perform nonverbal spells, yet in the battle in the attrium he is dueling alongside sirius without using spells outloud. What did everyone else think about the spell work, cool as it was, but still disappointing on some degree?

I hated that they had "levicorpus" in the film.

That spell played a large part in HBP... as the spell that gave away the HBP's identity.

It is supposed to be a nonverbal spell, besides.

There was no reason for them to have that spell in there.

oh, i completely forgot about that one, yea, it was completely unneeded in there and would have been much better placed in hbp where it belongs.

In the DA meeting... they float up Nigel.

And again in the Ministry, Luna uses it on a Death Eater.

They do have about a hundred knockback spells in the movie, and stupefy is supposed to be a stunner.

Yes definitely agreed on all of that. The only spell they got right was bombarda and Avada Kedavra.

i was also disappointed about the spellwork, the producers should have spent more time getting them right, they probably thought "give it to the public, it'll eat it up anyway"

Uh.. Bobmarda wasn't in the books... Rolling Eyes

Although there were a few others that were ok. Expelliarmus, the other unforgivables, Wingardium Leviosa etc.

I was just watching OotP tonight with my mom and at the point where Luna uses the Levicorpus on the Deatheater, I almost came out of my chair yelling at the TV. I had to tell my mom that Harry didn't even KNOW about Levicorpus until the Half-Blood Prince...and also, Cho ratting out the DA pissed me off.

And, I noticed in the scene after Bellatrix kills Sirius and Harry's running after her, he tries to use the Cruciatus and it didn't work...he hears Voldemort's voice telling him "You have to mean it..." Well, in the book, wasn't it Bellatrix who said that? She laughed at him and said "You've never used an Unforgivable before, have you? You have to mean it."

And I definitely agree about the dementors looking ridiculous. In my head, I've always seen them as cloaked, hooded figures, and they looked more like disgusting, mutated sea creatures in OotP.

So many things about this movie pissed me off.
