I just want to take this moment to say that I hate Nigel and that the films would have been better without him.

Wouldn't a new thread with the same topic get locked? Confused

I have to agree on that one, because there are so many twits and turns in the books. And at the start seemingly unimportant things play a big role in the end. So there are many important things left out. Like finding that locket in Sirius`s house.

yes, that could be one of the things, although apparently its going to be in HBP, you know, with the casting of regulus and everything

but there are many things they missed in OOTP and they also missed a couple of things in GOF that i think should really have been there and could cause problem to explin in the future

damn lame directors! Mad

I meant that you were changing the subject.

Hey, what's the name of that broomstick maker mentioned in "DH"? You know a Muggle-born said, "No, I'm half-blood! My father is *whats-his-name*! He's a well know broomstick maker!" I don't have my copy of the book.

I think you mean Arkie Alderton, a "well-known broomstick designer." The man's name isn't revealed, but he claimed that Arkie was his father. This was in chapter 13, The Muggle-born Registration Commission.

And yeah, this thread did get off-topic. Sad

Let's get back on topic. Who else culd have been previous DADA profs?

loool sirius/serious jokes!

if sirius hadnt gone to askaban maybe he would have matured normally and by the age he is in the books he could have been a teacher just fine i think

Gees, I can see that you guys went all the way out answering my question. But it would be nice to hear that Sirius taught DADA cos of his fine skills.

It's no doubt that he was skilled, but he couldn't have been the DADA professor.

^ yes, i was just talking hypothetically, there's no chance sirius could've been a teacher at hogwarts at any time in the series, nor do i think he would've been very interested in being one

I came up with a list not to long ago. Here's the first part of it:

Galatea Merrythought, 1895-June 1945 (retired)
Scrimgeour, June 1945-1965 (retired)
JINX
Quirrell, 1965-1966 (sacked)
Flint, 1966-1967 (killed by a troll)
Carrow, 1967-1968 (arrested for attacking a Muggle)
Septimus Weasley, 1968-1969 (went bankrupt)
Bartemius Crouch, 1969-1970 (resigned after parents were murdered)
Ollivader, 1970-1971 (died)

The Quirrell, Carrow, and Ollivander are defferent ones from the series.
