in the introduction scene of tonks in HBP..when shez sitting with molly...at the burrow.. she already seems to be in love with lupin.. more over..luoin already seems to hv rejected her feelings...
as molly tells her to stay around for dinner...coz lupin is coming..but she leaves sayin..thnks for all the sympathy...
which means..she must hv already fell for him... by the end of OOTP..
has any such clues have been given...??
im just wondering..it just couldnt have happened so soon ... there must have been some sort of hints.. or anything from tonks's side... in OOTP...
and .. what you people think coud have been the reasons.. tonks felt so strongly for lupin.. inspite of him being a werewolf.. and ub know older and poor ..as lupin quoted himself...

I think it happened during OotP. Harry comes to stay with the Weasleys in the beginning of the summer, about two weeks into summer break. By then Tonks has already fallen for Lupin.
There wouldn't be much hints in OotP because we see things from Harry's point of view and Harry is at school during teh time they most likely fell for each otehrs.
Lupin didn't really reject Tonks's feelings, he just pushed them away because of their age difference and status, both financial and social.

I think he loved Tonks deeply, but felt he had to push her and his feelings away because he thought he wasn't good enough, like he said in the end of HBP.

probably... i'd love to read OOTp.. n try and see if we could see at any point of time.. things from tonks side.. or may be any little thing...

I read OotP trying to keep Lupin and Tonks in mind to see if there were any hints. I didn't see any obvious ones. There were a few cute moments, though... like when Tonks tells him not to call her Nymphadora. I don't think that was anything meant to be foreshadowing, but it was still cute.

Yeah somewhere in the OotP. they spent a lot of time together and they kenw each other well. I actually like that they have a big age difference. How many years, btw?

Tonks was born 1973
Lupin was born 1960
That's a 13 year age difference. (I love my calculator!)

I love the relationship between them even if the ending was sad!
I hope he loved her as deeply as see did him. However we only know that she loved him a lot because she was vocal about it. Lupin seems to have kept in his personality seemingly quiet, and cautious. Therefore will not voice his feelings, and will be cautious about their relationship.
I do really want them to be together. Hopefully in an afterlife perhaps?? |

Actually, the first scene where they are introduced together in OOTP, could be interpreted as slight flirting. Remus, being a respectful person, and knowing she wants to be called Tonks, wouldn't have said her first name unless he was teasing her. She also is pretending to be upset with him, rolling her eyes and shaking her head and such. It seemd like a slight connection there. Plus, they were always on duty together.
And I think Remus adored Tonks. He just wanted her to be safe.
I think lots of women would want someone like Remus. He is respectful, kind, and a gentleman. Many men are scumbags when it comes to women. Remus isn't.

I didn't see it coming at all. I thought she was in love with Sirius... I don't really like the whole Lupin/Tonks thing though. But maybe that's just because after I saw the actor they picked to play Lupin, I couldn't imagine my own Lupin anymore.
