Just thinking...when Voldy tried to kill Harry as a baby, the curse backfired. But Voldy was still alive because of his Horcruxes. So would it mean that only 6 parts of his soul remain including the one in his body Question

He couldn't have just made another one cause like this u'll never become short of seven. Check your Horcruxes every month - OH! Someone has destroyed one of my Horcruxes, let's commit another murder and make a new one!

What do u guys think?

I think this is a possibility, but I doubt it. I don't know why.

Nagini makes six.Voldemort divided his soul into seven. Two have been destroyed, two are out there(out of which one may also be destroyed, by R.A.B) and we don't know what the remaining Two are. Nagini is one possibility. When the curse backfired, Voldemort's body was destroyed but his soul remained intact. That's the form he was in Book 1. I seriously doubt if any others were destroyed. Very few people know about the Horcrux. Only Dumbledore comitted himself to finding them. As for R.A.B(possibly Regulus Black) he only found one Horcrux and he's dead. Voldemort might have even strengthened the magical protection of the Horcruxes after coming back to power.

I know that is what worries me. TR is a very powerful wizard and very academically able - he was afterall head boy - and HP didn't even finish his NEWTs. I know the trio are the best widards andwithch of their generation but how exactly are they going to cope, it looks almost imposible to me and suggests a long jorney - possibly more than one book. Remeber how they took a whole year to solve the three tasks at the triwizard, well I have a feeling that the search for horcruxes is more intense and they are looking for more than tree horcruxes, not to mention that they don't even know where they are.

Well, Dumbledore might have left instructions(maybe in a diary that Harry is supposed to inherit). Or he might appear in spirit form to guide Harry(Like Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars). And then there's Dumbledore's portrait. Harry should definitely take Hermione and Ron with him. Three heads are better than one.

Hey that didn't cross my mind - I thought the only way for spirit Dumbledore to actually exist would be if he was a goast.

Hey a thought just crossed my mind, you know how the death eaters have at least a little knowledge of the dark arts? well how come most of them don't act as if they know about the horcruxes? I mean it even lookes like some of them don't even know about the proffecy. Aren't they even a little curious about what is going on and trying to figure it out?

What the Death Eaters know about the Dark Arts is nothing compared to what Voldemort knows. The Death Eaters learnt half their stuff from him. And nobody except Dumbledore and Harry know the contents of the prophecy. Well, Snape's heard half, but it's not much use. They are of course, curious. But curiosity can be dangerous if you happen to be working for Lord Voldemort. You would be very likely to pay with your life.

I have proposed this idea before and I certainly think that Dumbledore's portrait will be a major factor in the seventh book. Perhaps the only reason Harry will return other than to gather the ones he needs for the so called "final battle"

Yeah, probably. Harry will need to ask Dumbledore if there's anything he should know about Voldemort before the duel. Maybe Voldemort's style of duelling.

I remember JK saying something like, portraits are just reflections of personalities or something of that sort. I don't think that the portrait will play a big role in the seventh book.

I was thinking about that one after doing my math... is it that whenever you die one of your horcruxes is destroyed??
