There ws a good chance a Horcrux could have been there. They didn't know that Voldemort would be there waiting for them. I think they were foolish to follow Bathilda, though. I think Harry was too consumed with finding out more about DD's past to think clearly. His judgement was clouded. _________________

I think that Harry had to go there before the end of the book. He absolutely had to deal with the ghosts of his past face-to-face before he could come to terms with his fate of inevitable death. Jo wouldn't have had it any other way. I also agree that it was stupid of him to follow Bathilda, but would he be Harry if he hadn't followed her? He notoriously has bad judgement in these situations. _________________
