I watched the film this morning again.
Contrary to what everyone else seems to be saying, I thought it was really enjoyable.
I was annoyed that Dobby didn't make any appearance (nor did he in the OoTP) and also at the ending. Harry didn't receive his winnings in the film which he gave to Fred and George for the joke shop. They also didn't show any of the blackmail towards Ludo Bagman and of course, he wasn't mentioned in the film.
However, you have to bare in mind that films can't always accurately reflect the books. The film is merely based on the book and an alteration here and there can't be criticised. I thoroughly enjoyed, for example, the dragon scene. I thought it was much better than the books. |

Yeah it's ridiculous the amount of stuff they gotta cut out to make the most amount of money. It's only the money they care about, anyway...
They should really split the books up into separate films(like 2-3 films for each book) |

This is a good movie, which is fine, but My sisters didn't even get it until I explained it to them because they left so much out. LIke:
Ludo Bagman
Winky
SPEW
Dobby
the Mermaid-ness
The dursleys
ARthur barging in on the dursleys (ton-tongue toffee, eckeltricity, etc. )
The whole quidditch match for the world cup was cut out except for the beginning
they left out omnioculars
they never got water and saw Oliver Wood and the others
they left out the sphinx and shimmery stuff in the maze.
Teh other schools came on the first day and not at halloween
the sirius head in the fire was gay
they put some sort of "act" on when the other schools came.
Neville didn't give harry the gillyweed, dobby did, which brings me back to dobby is gone.
They even left out Blast-Ended Skrewts.
I'm so mad at them!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise, tis a pretty flick. _________________

I'm reading GoF now, and I shall say that I really like the movie. I'm noticing all of the parts that were left out or condensed (skrewts and the whole thing about Hermione's teeth reduction are the most obvious for me so far), and I'm pretty much okay with it.
In the movie, they did a fabulous job showing Hermione's entrance to the Yule Ball. Her dress was also much more beautiful than described in the book (periwinkle robe).
Oh, I also noticed that the first task is really different. In the book, Harry pulls clever tricks on his broom to get the Horntail away from the eggS, whereas in the movie, Harry is kinda clueless and there's that crazy chase. Personally, the movie was much more dramatic and looked much more dangerous than what I pictured while reading that chapter. However, I must say I was glad to read how the other champions obtained their egg. |

^Look at that list! That's way to much to leave out. That's one of the reasons that i didn't like the fourth movie as much as the third. They left out to many things. _________________

i pretty much hated this film as much as i hated OotP! I know it;s a pretty low blow considering how much there is in the books but still a lot of things were left out.
1. Dobby and Winky
2. The woods at the Quidditch world cup - seeing draco malfoy in the woods - Harry losing his wand - Even narcissa malfoy was missing - why werent the weasleys in the top box?
3. The Judges scoring - Ron berating Karkaroff for giving Harry a lousy score in the 1st task
4. Krum and Fleur's contribution to the story!
5. Charlie Weasley?
6. Molly and Bill Weasley at the Final Task!
7. Voldemorts talking about the Dementors and Death Eaters missing
8. Mrs Diggory
9. The Tri-wizard winnings - where were they? does this mean that Fred and George didnt get it which leads to will Weasleys wizarding wheezes being cut from the HBP movie?
10. Ludo Bagman - even though he doesn't really have a role after GoF it would have been good for them to include him _________________ Member #3 of the "David Yates has no direction for the Potter films and should therefore be stoned" club!

If I am honest I watched the film before I read the book, and I thought that the film was brilliant, but as soon as I read the book I am slightly disappointed with the film now cause if they would have added a bit more from the book or even have accurate info on the parts that were in the film (Dobby/Gillyweed, Ron/Karakoff).
Even the scene when Moody turns Malfoy into a ferrett, the argument was different in the book Malfoy found the news article in the daily prophet about Arthur Weasley (in the DP the 1st name is wrong) and was calling Ron's mum fat and stuff and Harry and Hermione were holding Ron back and then Harry said something about Narcissa Malfoy and then when Harry turned around Draco was about to cast a spell on Harry then Moody did what he did..... |
