It would depend on what it's about. If it were an 8th book, I'd rather it be the start of, say, a second series. One that revolves around the second generation of the trio.

A lot of people who do not read Harry Potter will make fun of her and say things like, "I knew it" and try to be condescending for her. I feel bad for her that just because she already said she wouldn't write another book it means that if she writes anotehr book not everyone will accept it. People are already rolling their eyes at the Potterpedia. She told Harry's story and that's over and done with, but a story about other wizards would be wonderful.

i will be one of those ppl gin who will be all sarcastic about it, because if she said she wouldnt write more then she should really stick to her word

this isnt like ppl who are dissapointed in her cause maybe she made a tiny mistake in the books or ppl who say she's trying to make more money out of the encyclopedia, instead of seeing it as it is, her making a sort of gift to her fans

there is a difference, if she publishes another hp novel i will most probably think she does it for the money, cause she has being saying for ages that she wouldnt do more

Exactly. She doesn't need the money.

bery, what if she wrote another HP novel that was about... Fleur when she was in France.... and all teh money went to charity or something? Would that alter your opinion?

I think the book shouldn't exactly be about the kids or the characters after the epilogue. I think it should be about that wonderful ninteen year gap and give the profit to charity cause its not like J.K. needs the money.

i have nothing against the encyclopedia guys, encyclopedia = love Smile

first of all, that story would be reeeeaaaaally lame in my opinion, the only story i could maybe tolerate is one about the first war, that would be interesting

but my experience with this things gin is that you have to know when to end them, if you keep continuing them in 95% of cases they get worse and you end with a feeling of bitter dissapointment

wouldnt you prefer to have this awesome ending??

i want to love the harry potter books forever and im afraid if something like this would happen my love for them would change Sad

I completely agree... I would rather her end on a high note than anything else.

It would be really great, but not necessary. I like the way it ended, if it doesn't continue anymore.

I don't want to wait 10 years to find out if she is going to write an 8th book.

I sure do want her to write another book(what kind of a HP fan would you be not to...) , but at the same time, it might be going a bit over the top.

I don't think, with how she ended the seventh book with the epilogue and everything, that she should write an either harry potter book. I mean if she hadn't added the epilogue and has just written another book about those nineteen years I would totally be behind it but I think that she couldn't really go far on the harry potter universe after the epilogue, it probably wouldn't be about harry potter, just their kids or something and with voldemort gone and everything it wouldn't be a real harry potter book, it'd probably be more like a fanfiction.

DEFINATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the books and hope that the adventure continues. I'd like it to continue straight after the battle however and learn what actually happens in the 19 years in between.

no, she really shouldn't. it would just spoil the series. while i am curious, i don't think that means she SHOULD write a book about the kids.
it would be like when people make a good movie, and it's really popular, so they make a sequel, but it's just really bad and nowhere near as popular. like they did with cheaper by the dozen.

I personally think that it would be interesting if it turned into a Open World like Forgotten Realms.
