Who is Wendy Slinkhard?

In HBP there is a listing for this character on imdb. This character is being played by actress Nina Voelker.

In the books there is a Wilbert Slinkhard, who is the author of the Defense Against the Dark Arts book that was assigned by Umbridge in OotP. Could this Wendy have any connection to Wilbert? Is she Nigel's mom? Or is she just something that Kloves or Yates thought up to drive me insane? Or was it something added to imdb to mess with my head?

The rumour is that she is a former student of Slughorn and appears in the Slughorn's Party scene. And they made Wilbert into a Wendy. What do you guys think?

i think wendy is just a young relative of Wilbert, and a member of the slug club. probably just a bit part...were there any girls other than ginny and hermione in the slug club? I can't remember any, maybe they're just trying to even it up.

In their generation, yes. Her name is Melinda Bobbin, whose family owned a chain of stores... apothecaries.

The official members in Harry's generation were....
Melinda Bobbin
Hermione Granger
Cormac McLaggen
Harry Potter
Ginny Weasley
Blaise Zabini

I'm guessing she was added in as just another random student thatmight have a line. One of Giny's friends? Or Pansy's? Or maybe an older member of the Slug Club....

hmmm...you'd think they'd just use the bobbin name. or a name of one of the other students. but apparently they can't do that. maybe they thought bobbin just sounded stupid idk.

Wow, they're adding these people who, IMO aren't too important in the plot yet they remove those important characters i.e. Scrimegour

I found this:

http://www.boxxet.com/Harry_Potter/Brief_interview_with_Nina_Voelker_about_Half_Blood_Prince.1jm8h2.d

I think that she if the female epitome of:

Slinkhard, Wilbert Author of Defensive Magical Theory, assigned for Defense Against the Dark Arts classes by Umbridge (OP9, 12).

I've seen references to him in during my search for Nina's character.

That's an unconfirmed interview, since the original site did not state where they got their quote from. (and gave me a tremendous amount of pop-ups in the process)
Also, your info is directly taken from the Lexicon. I gave all that info in my original post. Wink

Its both Newell's and Yates' fault.

Newell's fault for creating him out of thin air, the creevey brothers would've done it well for me.

And its Yates' fault for hiring Nigel again in OoTP. Laughing

I'm okay with eating both of their souls.

yates used nigel well for comedic relief, the silly little kid. he was never a bad character...his name was just perplexing. yates could have gotten a new kid and named him dennis...but that'd be extra pay for casting and to hold all the auditions and stuff. and why go through all that if you already have a character to serve that purpose? I don't have a problem with him still being in OotP, and I doubt anyone, or as many, would if he was named Dennis. but that's not Yates' fault.

That's what gets to me. He only had one tiny part in GoF, he delivered a package to Ron. A part that could have been given to a character name Dennis and not Nigel. Yates then embraced the character and gave him a bigger role. It was absolutely absurd.
