Harry probably will need some money before he goes for his training. Buy some new clothes, or set books, stuffs...

So what will happen when he appears in Gringotts?

Do you think the goblins will line up and can't wait to shake his hand and ask for his autograph?

Or they will hand in all his money and tell him keep out of the bank and never come back?

Or they will ask him to pay for the dragon he unlashed and the renovation?

Or they will shout "thief" and try to take him to Azhaban????????

They will probably be disgruntled, but serve him none-the-less. Harry got rid of Voldemort, and even they can't fault him after that -- even if they would like to.

I doubt it. It took hundreds of years for a Goblin to manage to get a hold of it, and that happened by a fluke. Griphook took advantage of a lucky situation. I doubt that he will get that lucky again, adn he isn't going to cross boundaries to get it.

I'm sure they will be angry at first... but since they were not supporters of Voldemort in general, they might actually forgive him once they realize he was stealing in the name of Voldemort's demise.

As for Griphook, there is nothing he can do, really. He can't really admit that he was a part of the break-in, so as far as taking action he might have to just seethe in silence.

I think Hermione will make sure that the sword will return to the goblins.
I think that Harry will keep his word also.
About Gringotts, they will have to forgive him, won't they Smile

Hermione didn't believe that the sword belonged to the goblins, though.

Griphook lied to them and nearly got them all killed. I'm sure that she has no desire to honor a promise that they never even had the chance to break.

She didn't make the promise. The sword doesn't belong to the goblins, it belongs to Hogwarts, first. What the goblin did was wrong and I'm sure she feels no loyalty to him.

they already knew something like this might happen and still hermy wanted to do the "right" thing

and gin, it's not about loyalty, it's about making a deal and keeping your end of it

we never knew their thoughts of what had happened in gringots though so i couldnt be sure

Either way, it's not Hermione's sword to give away to the goblins. It belongs to Hogwarts.

I'm afraid Scrimgeour was right. That sword wasn't DD's to give away, nor was Harry's. It belonged to Hogwarts.

If Griphook tried to ask for the sword, I would like to see how MG jinxed Griphook and drove him away!!!!!! Wink

i dont think there would be a problem. especially since harry and ginny continue to do good for the wizarding world.

as for griphook, he will be angry but wont be able to do anything about it. he may be proud that his sword was the sword to defeat voldi and brag more than complain.

Yes, of course it was a clue. Scrimgeour said that it was property of Hogwarts. Godric left it to Hogwarts, for students to use. I doubt he had any intentins for a Headmaster to someday give it away to a student. I'm sure it was understood thatthe sword always belonged to the school and the students there.

I agree that the sword belongs to Hogwarts.. but didn't the goblins make it to begin with? (I could be wrong.. I have read so many fan fictions that sometimes it's hard to tell the book from the fan fics.)

Of course the goblins made it, that's how the whole debate began.
The goblins made it and when it was brought to them at Gringott's they were able to see right away it was a fake.
And thatwas why Griphooks felt the sword was theirs, because they made it. But the thing is, it belonged to Godric Gryffindor. Just because you make it, doesn't mean it's yours. You make it, someone buys it, end of story. But the goblins look at the money as a rental fee, even though they are clearly told it is not.

I think it's pretty cut and dry. When someone pays for something, it becomes theirs. The goblins can't get past that. I think if the wizards threatened to stop dealing with them, they might be forced to change their ways. But I don't think the wizards would ever threaten to do that because the goblins control the banks. It would be like threatening Switzerland.

That's what I though.. I wasn't completely sure.

Of course I was not saying that the goblins should get the sword back just because they made it.. I just was not sure if they made it or not.

I think halfbloodprincess is right, Harry fully knew the possible consequinces of the deal he made. Still he made it. And wizards are fully aware of how the goblins views were on such matters.
I'm a newbie so, why can't other creatures control the banks in the wizardring world. There were wizards who worked for Grigotts weren't there?
