TLC has gotten a new report today regarding a possible release date of the first teaser trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. While there have been many various rumors out there, we have a credible report saying the first HBP teaser will air in movie theaters before the second Narnia movie, Prince Caspian when it opens on May 16. Again while we believe this to be credible, please keep this in the rumor category for now until we can get confirmation from Warner Brothers.

On a related note, thanks to the many of you (including our friends at Snitchseeker.com) who emailed to say that “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” will be making it’s American network television debut on ABC Saturday April 26 at 8pm (ET). There are also rumors swirling regarding this too, claiming ABC may show new footage of Half-Blood Prince during the film. While this is very much unconfirmed, it is possible they will be airing some of the sneak peek excerpts of HBP as seen already on the OotP DVD, however at this point, we simply do not know what, if any, new preview will be aired. We are working to find out more about this, and will update with more when we can!

Why anyone ever doubted me is beyond me . . .

Cool Wink

Now, I'm going to have to go see the second Narnia movie in theatres . . . I hadn't been planning on it.

Same here.

Happy Feet was cute, though, but kind of annoying. Darn it, I was hoping for a film I was going to see anyway, this time.

haha . . . I loved Happy Feet. I actually didn't realize that the trailer for OotP would be in that one. When the trailers were starting, my best friend was like "Oh yeah! The new HP trailer is supposed to be on this one!" That was a pleasant surprise.

It was the only reason I saw the movie! It was a cute movie, don't get me wrong, but I felt at times it was a bit too much.

I have to say I'm a bit surprised they chose this movie, Prince Caspian, I would think since Narnia is a bit of a rival they wouldn't want to mix the two.

No, that's why they realease them six months apart. See, as long as they are in theatres at the same time, they are rivals. As long as they are release at completely different intervals, then one isn't taking the viewers of the other -- since they both attracts the same viewer.

It's really ingenious to release the trailer for one on the others movie, to be honest.

The only reason that they are seen as rivals by some is because of the christian crusade to ban HP forever. The super-christians who thought HP was evil decided that The Chronicles of Narnia would be a great alternative for HP lovers -- as if it's up to them to choose our literature.

Other than that, HP and Narnia have always lived in complete and utter harmony.

No, they are being released in the same year, therefore up for the same awards. Plus, they are both fantasy movies with a history of being compared to each other. Therefore, they are rivals, perhaps not by chioce, but that's how it is.

Technically all of the movies are rivals, if you look at it that way. The people who decide on these things are concerned with box office numbers, though.

I mean the fantasy films geared towards children. Especially ones that were books first, like HP, Narnia, Eragon, The Golden Compass, etc.
Films released during the same week are in a completely different rivalry class.

They are inevitabley going to be up for many of the same awards, but so are a bunch of other films. They don't plan theatrical trailers based on possible nominations in the coming year. They plan them based on box office sales. The way that they planned these two movies was perfect.

I didn't say it wasn't a good idea, I said I was surprised.
