I know many of you may have heard bad news about the MacBook Air, and some good news.
I was wondering, what are your opinions on the thinnest notebook in history?
Anyone plan to get on, some pros cons you see in this product? or are you a Microsoft guy?

Here are some links to help you understand what the MacBook Air is if you don't know,

I think that the small size of it is practical for a few reasons... but in the end I am just not a Mac person. Love Mck, not Mac. Smile

I wouldn't buy it because in my opinion it's too fragile.

its a horrible computer and i think al knows it too. its really a computer for looks. i bet the second gen will be a lot better though.

Limited connectivity. There's only one USB port, and USB hubs never seem to work as well as built-in ports do. There's no Ethernet adapter, either.

Disposable? The battery is apparently not user-replaceable, nor is RAM, nor is the hard drive. It's one thing to sell a disposable $300 mobile device, it's quite another to sell a disposable $1,800 to $3,000 notebook. Who among us has never swapped a notebook battery, or upgraded our RAM?

Five hours of battery life sounds great, but I assume that's for a Macbook Air outfitted with a solid-state drive, which adds $1,000 to the cost of the unit. I'd rather pay less for a device with much less storage. I can keep more data up in the AIR, right?

You cant take the battery out
You cant upgrade the RAM
There is no drive to install software, listen to music, and watch movies.
It has 1 USB, not enough for most people.

I agree that it sucks.

I think it's crazy that it can "read" CDs that are in other computers! Sneaky MacBook Air!

That is one of few things it is good for, and if you are looking for the solid state drive version it cost you $3000

Oh wow. I'm pretty sure the one I saw in the Apple store was the drive free version. I'd be afraid I would break it because of how thin it is. I'm sure it will have it's ups and downs, but it looked pretty neat to me...which has nothing to do with its specs haha. I think if I was getting a mac I'd still get a regular MacBook at this point.

I'm not really into Mac. Windows is more widely used and in my opinion intunitive. Besides, I'm into the bigger, powerful laptops that are more like the 'movable desktops'.

My dad has a MacBook Air, and I love that Mac. It's very good, trust me. But I woulden't like having a Mac without CD.. But, yeah, it works for him.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!

sorry

but yeah, i think it's incredibly stupid to make a laptop without a CD drive, one ubs port, with specs lower than my own crappy laptop, and no hardware upgrade possible. it's like going backwards in technology.
A friend of mine keeps stating it's cool because it's thin, but i can't give a bloody ass about it's thinness if it's specs are so disastrous.

Like having a beatiful pen with which you can't write..

I think this thing is laughable, and a disgrace to innovation.

On top of that, I dislike macs...
