It all depends what you want from your console, what experience you wish to expect.
The PS3 is known for its graphics and Bluray player, bluray is the most advanced (beats High Definition DVD). It also just has the best graphics, cost more then the XBox360, but worth the pay.
The XBox360 is known for its online game play, no bluray player but it is less expensive, it supports HD game play.

Do your research, figure out what you love in consoles and what best suits you.

Price
Graphics
Online play
HD/bluray
Size
Games and accessories included

Things you should look for and know about the consoles before you buy.

try www.bestbuy.com they have both systems

my brothers each have the ps3 & xbox, but when playing them i cant really tell which one is better! the blu-ray is strong pulling point for me to the PS3 seeing as it is going to win the HD war, but my mates tell the online gameplay is better on the xbox - but you have to pay for it where ps3's you dont! Too many + & - points to both consoles!

Thanks for the advice and link! Smile

Personally i think if you have the money and don't mind spending more for the PS3, go ahead and get it.

I disagree. The xbox360 still has good graphics and online play if you get xboxlive. PS3 has no good games

XBOX 360 if your into rpg/shoot em ups. They have a lot of good ones:
Call of Duty 4
Halo 3 (duh)
Mass Effect
Assassin's Creed
Fable 2 (Coming out!)

But only if your into that kind of stuff. Online gameplay though is amazing.

Blue-ray is terrible. One little scratch say bye-bye to that disc.

It's a good choice. The price is a little more than what I could've afforded, but you'll have fun with it.
