I never really understood how someone could love a book, but not like the main character, who is supposed to be the hero of the book. If I didn't like the main character, I wouldn't bother to finish reading the book. Yet, some people read seven books about this character who they hate. It seems like they wasted their time to me.

<shrug> I don't know why I don't like him. I just don't.

But hey, if it was really a waste of time would you rather me not be here, GinnyX? ):

Oh no, of course I didn't mean it like that. I personally couldn't imagine reading seven books about someone I didn't like.

Spoiler:

i dont count the epilogue cause i didnt like it Razz

but in the actual years of harry, it would be ok, cause he's 8 years older then me if he was born on 1980

I probably kept reading it for the magic, or for his friends.

But don't worry, it's a quirk. I almost never like the main character, and if I do, they're probawbly pretty good characters. I, for some reason, almost always like the villains better.

Ex1: In the Lion King, I never really liked Simba too much. I, however, did love Scar to death.

Ex2: Meanwhile come Simba's Pride, I still didn't like Simba, but I adored his daughter, Kovu AND Zira.

Ex3: Thousands of miles away in Chronicles of Prydain(Lloyd Alexander. Epic series. I reccomend it) I loved Taran, the main character to death.. but hated all the villains.

Some villians are awesome, like Malificent from Sleeping Beauty. I don't like her more than Princess Aurora, but she still rocked.

And as for your post above regarding the age... If Harry was born in 1980, he'd only be one year older than me. Smile

Don't try to get it. That's my only answer. People are different, and I just happen to enjoy villains more.
