Harry can't be a teacher, I doubt hogwart is even going to turn up very much. Harry will be to busy getting horcruxes.

you guys are assuming that harry will even go back to school. i think that their is too much stuff he needs to accomplish before he will go back. if goes to school and destroys the horcruxs on the side, this book will be about 2,000 pages probably. i really dont think harry will go back, neither will most of his gang. i think they have too much stuff already to do, and can handle themselves for the most part.

Lupin, Bill and other order member's will be to busy to apply and teach kids at Hogwarts. I think Mcgonnagall will remain Transfiguration Teacher, even though she will be Headmistress. I also think going back to the main purpose of this thread that Vicktor Krum will become the DADA teacher. For he to me is the most quallified Canidate. He went to drumstrang, and was thaught be a former deather eater, turned informant, Karkoroff. I also think he will become a teacher because he compeated in the Triwizard Tourney.
Off topic but, when LV tryed to apply for a job the first time how old was he? Did he Just finish off his first year? Victor Krum maybe to young, but he is definatly a possiblity.(and J.K. Rowling stated somewere he is scheduled to come back.

there are a lot of vacant positions

1. potions = slughorn and snape have left
2. dada = snape left
3. transfiguration = mcgonagall is gonna be headmistress so her position will be vacant.

* maybe bill since he will be living in london because of fleur
* maybe slughorn again since, by teaching at hogwarts, sort of delcared his allegiance
* dunno who's next. hmmm... i have a theory about trelawney. voldie might be interested in her. after all, she was the one who made the prophecy. naturally, she doesnt remember it. but voldie will torture her like he tortured bertha jorkins so that he can get the info.

THere are 3 positions missing.
Either there are too many new characters, or the school closes.

No it doesn't, It will probably remain open. I think the Order Will use Hogwarts like a Club House. I think Slughorn Will stay, for DD death impacted him. Mcgonagoll Will stay as Transfiguration Teacher. And some one else from the past books will be the DADA teacher. I think less kids will return to hogwarts though.

fleur! fleur could be a teacher. she seems good at charms coz she always used a charm in the triwizard tasks. first she put the dragon to a trance. next she used the bubble head charm in the second task. but flitwick is the charms teacher. maybe he will switch to transfiguration? and then lupin returns as DADA.

Rght now i am debating if Hogwarts would continue running as a school. Because when a wizard/witch dies, all of their enchantments and stuff like that are banished ( when Dumbledore died Harry was released from being frozen ) So that means Mcgonogal would have to do all of that again to make Hogwarts as safe as possible. Even if she does succeed, how many parents would actually want to send their kids back to that school knowing Dumbledore isn't their. Nevertheless, if Hogwarts is reopened, i think that Tonks would become a teacher, ( possibly DADA ) and if Slughorn does leave, maybe Hagrid will take up as potions teacher, but that would be completely ridiculous and would happen at desperate measures = )

hagrid in potions? does he even know how to brew something? nah. i think he's better off as care of magical creatures teacher.

Slughorn is going to stay because he has basically joined DD in the last book and the Death Eaters where already after him so he still is better off at Hogwarts. I think Minerva McGonagall will still be transfig teacher.I think that Harry if he survives might come back to teach DADA if not then I'm pretty sure professor sprout is goin to die or retire and nevile will teach Herbology.

Tonks Would make a good Transfiguration Prof. but she is already an Auror. To much of a responsiblity, not enough time. maybe after the Dark Lord is Defeated?

Slughorn will stay. he likes comfort. he'll stay.

i believed that there would always be a complete new character for DADA. He/She can be important or not. Moody, Umbridge (the first more) were relatively known to the wizarding community but never mentioned. Lockhart and Lupin weren't either. The only exception would be Snape. that we knew already. Still I'd say someone new. The only character to be introduced (JKR does say that are a couple that will be introduced but they aren't very important). If he/she is new then he/she won't have a major role, or then will have but is considered as non important (for example lupin and lockhart weren't important, they only helped (or not) in a few fulcral points. i don't consider them as important as Sirius Black or Tom Riddle, in both books. if it isn't a new character then it's probably Krum. however i remember him saying he had problems with DADA because he only studied Dark Arts in Durmstrang. That would make him a lousy teacher if he only learn it for a year. charlie i can't see becoming a teacher either. he likes the outside. the reincarnation of Sirius would be funny but no. I think we're going to ear about him, maybe meeting him beyond the veil, or him waltzing out of it (doubt it, but would love it). tonks would be fun, but i don't think so, she's busy at the order.lupin already was a DADA teacher.. i'm not seing fleur either.. that's why i though about a new character. if it isn't then only tonks, krum or fleur. bill could also but i think he has enough problems as it is..

for transfiguration i don't know. maybe mcgonnagal can make a double work. if not then call tonks/krum/fleur. i don't believe in krum because he didn't transfigured himself very well.

i agree with copperdude14.. theres a lot of things Harry still have to do.. i dont think Hogwarts will reopened either.. i think harry will go back too.. i mean.. how many horcruxes are left to be found?? 5?? if Hogwarts will reopened in book7.. the book will surely be so thick.. and.. JK said that book7 will be shorter than order of the phoenix right?? (is it OotP or GoF.. i cant remember) Very Happy
