I was disappointed with Deathly Hallows in whole. I mean, the story was good, but I was more angry with JK for killing off too many characters. You know she did it just to try to invoke emotion in the largest group of people possible.
I mean, some of the character's deaths were actually important. I mean, I saw why Dobby and to a lesser extent, Snape, died. But most of the characters didn't have to. Fred, Lupin, and Tonks were just bogus. I can see Fred more than Lupin/Tonks, simply because she actually wrote him dying, but to just have Lupin/Tonks dead was wrong I thought. It was a slap in the face in my opinion.
Why Fred? I thought it was obvious. It's because JKR hates me. Duh.
Actually, it's mainly because of two reasons. One, he is universally liked. Most people enjoy the twins. They are a ray of sunlight, especially Fred. They are always available with a joke or quip even in the darkest of times. The second main reason is, one of the Weasleys had to go. The odds were just against them. Realistically speaking, one of them was bound to end up dying in the war, it was inevitable.
She decided to kill of Lupin and Tonks because she wanted to create paralles betwene Teddy and Harry. Harry was left an orphan during time of war and was raised by his remaining family. Teddy, too, was left an orphan and was left to be raised by remaining family. She wanted to show how war can rip families apart, but at the same time show that some people are willing to die so others can live freely, even when those "others" are their own children. _________________ Breathing is optional. I suppose it was because someone had to die. She could have chosen anyone, though.

I think that one of the Weasley's had to die. There are so many of them and people love them so much. I'm actually suprised that he was the only Weasley to go. _________________
It was obvious that one of the Wealey's had to die, it would just be to perfect and unrealistic for them all to get through the war alive. I knew this when i started the book.
I didn't think she'd pick one of the twins, but i guess for the ending she wanted she couldn't kill off Ginny or Ron (I'm so happy she didn't). I thought at first that it might be Percy, but that would be to weird i guess for her to kill off the one Weasley that people tended not to like (though i always did have a feeling he would come around) I thought that it was going to be one of the older 2 or maybe one of the parent, i didn't think that there was any way that she could kill off one twin and not the other, but i guess that's the way it goes sometimes... _________________

Good points. I knew one of the Weasleys would die, and when George simply lost an ear, I knew that it would probably be Fred... don't ask me how. _________________
im kind of glad she killed of a bunch of people. she had made the first war sound so deadly but this one wasnt nearly deadly enough. when she killed, it made the story more beleavable. and i also think it was good that she killed some people but didnt show them dying (Lupin, Tonks). your not always gonna be with your friends in war.

I thought about that after i finished the book, I didn't think about it at the time, but i really should have realized it. _________________

but like many people i see why jk killed of a weasley. there were just too many of them for one not to die. i was personally hoping it was percy (even though i knew it was unlikely) or maybe charlie..seeing as we didnt know much about him, i thought it would be easier to handle.

but thats just it, death isnt always gonna pick the people who deserve to die, it picks the good people to. and she emphasized this by killing Fred.
I love Fred! I didn't want him to die, but i knew one of the Weasley's was going to die. Like GinnyX said, the twins were a big hit. I knew if it was going to be one of the twins it was going to be Fred because he was like the leader of the too. He asked Angeline out, George wasn't mentioned to ask anyone out in the fifth book. He just did more things threwout the book. _________________
None of the Weasley's should've died. They didn't deserve that.
I absolutely love McGonagall, but why not her instead? She's around 70 years old (even though that's not quite that old for a witch). _________________ Snape, Snape, Severus Snape.
