i know alot of people want to change their name, but it has been disallowed.

is their any way we could restart it, but this time place a limit on the number of name changes. or maybe alocate a second person to do it???

I recommend allowing this to give it a chance.
We should put a limit on the amount of changes per user. Many people wish to change there name, but they make a 2nd account to do this, to get around the name change policy.
I think it would be best for the forum to just allow this again with a placed limit.

i think allowing name changes would be better then a person making a new account everytime. this way is alot simpler.

but a limit is definatly needed.

I think name changes should be allowed, because a lot of people want to change their name at some point. But I know of one member here who wanted 3 different name changes in about 3 or 4 months. That's a bit excessive. Which is why there should be a limit. I think 3 is plenty.

I realize a lot of people request a name change, and it's bothersome for pretty much one admin to keep up with the requests. This is why I believe selecting another admin would be beneficial to the forum. It's too much to ask for one person to do.

I agree with having another admin around the forums, if Phoenix plans on being gone for much longer, we need to start thinking about a new admin.

mm. yeah. its best to have someone that is able to spend a consistent amount of time on here. so they area aware of whats happening all the time.

I agree that the name changes should be brought back, but a limit is definitely needed. As for a new admin - yeah, we probably need one. Phoenix hasn't been on for months, and Dar isn't on as much as he used to be either.

The reasons I think we need a new admin,

1. DarMonkey is not very active.

2. Phoenix has yet to be seen.

3. The sorting hat requests build up high sometimes. No offense to anyone, but I noticed a few house prefects lacking to do there job in the sorting hat.

4. We need someone active as admin so any problems can be fixed with in the admin panel. Take some of the other stuff in Help Questions, & Support for example.

Name changes should be allowed, but with limits. Allow changes for special reasons, and one change per year otherwise.

i agree on all points in this thread. i would love a name change, but havent bothered anyone with a request cuz i missed the chance. i feel a limit is needed!! and possibly a house change, i love my huffies but no one posts... as much as i rally and try its for naught.

other than that i feel a 2nd admin is needed. al is a wonderful mod and i think he would be good.

And changing houses should be allowed also, but with limits. Maybe a waiting time after you leave one house before you can join another.

I think excessive name changes just make it confusing for other posters and mods/admins. And I don't see wy anyone would want to change their Houses, each House has their own wonderful uniqueness and we should accept that.
I noticed that many people have been requesting forum changes. Some of these requests sound reasonable, but time consuming. If time is the issue, perhaps the workload can be redistrubuted out through others willing to take on the challenge. *coughAlastorMoodycough*

There aren't many forums that allow name changes, that I know of. It's just confusing and time consuming. Sticking with the name you signed up with won't kill you.
