this is another classic I hold dear to my heart. I identify with Jo and Beth, the other two not so much. and I fell in love with Laurie, especially when played in the 1994 movie to perfection by Christian Bale *swoon*
who else loves this and which of the sisters do you identify with? _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer
I think I identify with each sister a little bit.... I think it depends on where I am at the time in my life when I can say which sister I identify with more.
Laurie is fantastic, especially when played by Christian Bale... who's birthday is coming up, by the way. Remind me to throw confetti, lol.
I wish I hadn't read the sequels, especially Jo'S Boys. I really feel like those books ruined Little WOmen and Louisa May Alcott for me. I still appreciate her and Little Women, but I wish she hadn't written Jo's Boys. The bitter tones are really sour. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan
You sould have told me sooner. It's already almost 3 in the morning... even later than that because he is probably in Britain somewhere.... and he is probably wondering where the hell his confetti is. What do I do now? _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan
throw it of course! this way it'll catch him by surprise. _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer
Happy Birthday Christian Bale who was in the movie Little Women which was based on a book so I guess this is the correct section to be doing this!
*throws confetti*
EDIT: And this, Arabella, is just another reason why I am Smexy's number one biggest fan...

Beyond Christian Bale (although I do love him and think he was GREAT as Laurie), the book was awesome too. I read it for a book report in fourth grade and have loved it ever since. I identify with Jo and Beth too, mainly. I don't think the movie did justice to Jo's relationship with Mr. Baer later in the book, but it did have to be shortened for movie. _________________ The woods are lovely, dark, and deep

i loved that book, but i found it weird that laury ended up with the youngest... was it beth?
No, the youngest was Amy. Beth was the sister who passed away. Amy was the one who loved to draw and went with Aunt March to Europe. Eventually she marries Laurie. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan
But he totally did it cos he promised her and always felt *fond* towards her and to get into Jo's family. _________________ The woods are lovely, dark, and deep

well, lauries a girls name you know, so enjoy your 'man'.
Laurie was short for Lawrence, which was his last name. His first name was Theodore, or Teddy, as Jo called him. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan
haha. ived only heard about little women through "Friends"
lol. you know the episode where joey reads it.
they made it sound good. whats it about??
I remember that episode! Monica and Joey switch books and Joey puts his in the freezer, lol!
Little Woman was written by Louisa May Alcott. The story tells of four sisters living in Civil War-era Massachusettes. The story is a fictionalised biography.
The book has been turned into a movie so many times, and has also been turned into a musical. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan
Well, Joey sorta of spoils The Shining for Rachel... so she gets revenge...
Spoiler:
RACHEL: Hmm. Umm, why do you have a copy of The Shining in your freezer?
JOEY: Oh, I was reading it last night, and I got scared, so.
RACHEL: But ah, you're safe from it if it's in the freezer?
JOEY: Well, safer. Y'know, I mean I never start reading The Shining, without making sure we've got plenty of room in the freezer, y'know.
Spoiler:
RACHEL: How often do you read it?
JOEY: Haven't you ever read the same book over and over again?
RACHEL: Well, umm, I guess I read Little Women more than once. But I mean that's a classic, what's so great about The Shining?
JOEY: The question should be Rach, what is not so great about The Shining. Okay? And the answer would be: nothing. All right? This is like the scariest book ever. I bet it's way better than that classic of yours.
RACHEL: Okay. Ah, well we'll just see about that, okay. I will read The Shining, and you will read Little Women.
JOEY: All right, you got it.
RACHEL: All right.
JOEY: Okay.
RACHEL: Okay.
JOEY: Ah, now Rach, these ah, these little women.
RACHEL: Yeah.
JOEY: How little are they? I mean, are they like scary little?
Spoiler:
JOEY: These little women. Wow!
CHANDLER: You're liking it, huh?
JOEY: Oh yeah! Amy just burned Jo's manuscript. I don't see how he could ever forgive her.
ROSS: Umm, Jo's a girl, it's short for Josephine.
JOEY: But Jo's got a crush on Laurie. Oh. You mean it's like a girl-girl thing? 'Cause that is the one thing missing from The Shining.
CHANDLER: No, actually Laurie's a boy.
JOEY: No wonder Rachel had to read this so many times.
