In addition to our General Forum Rules, the following rules apply to the Forum Games area:
- Please do not re-make games that have already been posted. (Please check the Game forums before posting your game.)
- Please do Not bump topics using a double post. Please wait for the next person to post before posting again.
- Please do Not flame other members. IF you feel a game is getting out of hand please contact an Admin or Mod.
- No one word games, such as "the number game" or "the letter game". (Please have a meaning to the game)
- Please do not abuse this forum and use it just to boost your post count.
What are Forum Games ?
| wikipedia wrote: |
A forum game is a text-based multiplayer game played on an Internet forum. Simple examples include word association, hangman, "Count to a Million", "what are you listening to?", "which do you prefer?", and variations of Photoshop contests.
Many games take advantage of the linear nature of certain forums. One example is "Person Above You", in which users write about the user that posted before them. A variant is "Person Below You", in which users write about the next poster, who replies with "true" or "false". On the other hand, multiple instances of some games, such as word association, can run concurrently on threaded forum systems. Another forum game is "Image Wars" In which the players have to post an image that beats the above image. There are a few rules in some, namely no nukes or black holes, since they're ALMOST unbeatable.(though of course those who know where to find the right image can. There are certain images not allowed in others, including one which doesn't allow dalek images, though they are beatable. A few don't allow blood, though it's obvious why(some people are squeamish to the sight of blood)
More complex forum games may expand into the fields of turn-based strategy or role-playing games, or a combination of both, where a player can both lead a group and play a member of that group. These more complex games are usually a separate forum or subforum, and within each forum the players interact with each other given the rules and themes of each game. A moderator or moderators usually preside over and update the status of the game world and each player every turn. In some cases, board software itself may have added features pertaining to the game, ranging from simple granting of "experience points" for posting in threads related to games, to complex systems handling multiple aspects of a game (for example: budgeting, unit management, and map generation in a Civilization-type game.
Conventional board games like Risk and Diplomacy and variations of play-by-mail games are also sometimes adapted for play on forums. |

They are different versions, you should be proud.
You started something popular, and they found it fun.
note: This game was not invented by you, it has been across the Internet, you just brought it upon this board. _________________

Yes, you didn't invent the game. Just brought it upon this forum. Which is good cause it's so popular. _________________

Games that require multiple words to be posted are acceptable. Games that require a single number to be posted are not. Some games that are one-word only are acceptable as long as it requires some thought to what you are posting and there is a relationship between the words. _________________

Please refrain from "personal" games, such as the two I locked. It is best to leave all personal games alone because it could cause problems within our community. _________________

It has came to the attention too many members and staff that elimination games are being abused, and to many are being made.
I locked some unactive ones. _________________

I know there is a 10word story but can I make a 3word story or are they too similar? The 10word story is dead...in case that makes a difference _________________
