I am really excited about this movie. I LOVE Indiana Jones... well, I wasn't so thrilled with the second film, but the others were great.

I was nervous when I first heard they were making a fourth film... I remember how they said that the Last Crusade was titled such because... it was the last crusade. It made for a nice trilogy. But if this fourth film is as good as I hope, then I won't mind in the least.

I noticed they're now milking Indiana Jones everywhere possible. Cereal, Old movie box sets, constant commercials, toys, cakes, everything !

And they keep showing the first three movies over and over again...
I saw a thing on... I think it was the History Channel called Indiana Jones... where they discussed the myths/legends mentioned in the movies. I didn't get to watch it, though....it'll be on again, though....
Here is a link to that...

I've never seen an Indiana Jones movie . . . and I've never been to MGM so I didn't see that show. They never look that good to me. Maybe I'll see this one. I love Shia Laboef . . .

I think you would like them. There is a lot of history and fighting evil and legends and all that good stuff mixed in there.

I do love history and legends . . . I didn't realise that stuff was in there! I mean, I knew he was an archeologist, but I always hear people saying that he really was nothing like an archeologist. Maybe I'll catch one on tv this week.

lol, he was an archeology professor, but he was always getting into scrapes... It's like Harry. He's a wizard, but as he says, "I don't go looking for trouble. Trouble usually finds me." I mean, it's a movie. If all he did was dust off bones the whole time it wouldn't make for as intriguing as a plot.
Here, look at this article...

Well, duh they don't have whips. It's a movie. Rolling Eyes

The themes are amazing and the stories are interesting. Adventure, whips, Nazis... what more could you want?

I wonder if Shia Laboef knows that boef basically means beef in French.

Anyway, I want to get a bunch of friends together so we can go see it. I'm wicked excited.

And DarMonkey, does that mean you're not looking forward Quantum of Solace?

He knows, as does every fan of his. I love when people tell me that it means beef. I took french for four years in high school. If I can't figure that one out on my own, then I'm be worried about my IQ.

I won't be able to see this until next week because i still have to watch indiana jones and the temple of doom and indiana jones and the last crusade. I enjoyed the first one a lot, so i can't wait to see the new one, instead this week i will go and see the new Narnia movie.

Just a quick question Why do quite a lot of the major Indiana Jones fans say the second one is not a good as 1 or 3?

It's a matter of preference, I guess... like how some people didn't like GoF as much as, say, the first two HP film.
Well, in my opinion Temple of Doom wasn't as good as the other two... even when I was younger, the woman in it, her name was Willie Scott,... she kept screaming and needing to be saved.... she'd scream "INDYYYYY" and I wanted to shove a sock in her mouth and hope she choked on it. She was a far cry from te previous chick who was hardcore badass. She actually remined me of my own mom at times. Smile So going from Karen Allen's Marion Ravenwood to Kate Capshaw's Willie Scott was sort of... a step back, in my opinion.
I also feel like the other two were more... similar, I guess is the word. Temple of Doom seemed almost too fantastical, if that makes sense. But really, those are just my opinions.
Other people might think Temple of Doom was wonderful. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but not as much as the other two.

As many as we can get, if they want to make them. Honestly, if they do a good job on them and they don't lose their integrity I don't see why they would have to stop making them.

I agree with GinnyX, I just think once Harrison Ford dies, not more Indies. He's the original and nobody can replace him.

I wonder if they are considering Shia Labouf as some sort of... not replacement... but a way to continue the series, so to speak... I like him, but I can't picture anyone else but Harrison Ford as my Indy.

Exactly, I wouldn't mind if they continued the series just not name the main character Indiana Jones because in everyone's mind will be Harrison Ford, not whoever they have. They could name it like Tom Jones or something...Razz.
