Well, if Harry did take the portrait with him, he could talk to Dumbledore, so that'd be helpful.

yup. wish hermione summoned his portrait instead of the secrets of the darkest art... not unless those portraits have a permanent sticking charm... Smile

i always wondered why harry didnt spend more time with dumbledores portrait or carry one around with him but i kinda get it now, thanks for clearing that up Smile

why can't he? phineas could tell he was in a 'new' problem when hermione blindfolded him; he could talk and relay new information, as well as spout off new stuff.

i agree with you carry a pic or somethin of dumbledores to help with your finding
but if dumbledore wanted this wouldnt he had givin a pic of himself when ron harry n hermione heard about the will n was givin things off dumbledore??

So, if Voldemort had a couple of pictures somewhere, his folowers could still turn to him for advice? Could be a possibility to drag the series on.

Pictures (or photographs) and portraits are completely different things. Photographs only capture a memory. A Portrait has an imprint the person left behind after they died. In order for Voldemort to leave his Death Eaters portraits of himself, he'd have to die. Which is not something he ever wanted to happen, so probably not something he ever considered doing.

If Hermione had taken DD's picture out of the office, then Snape would have had no way to communicate with him. JKR needed the portrait to stay in the office for plot purposes.

The locket wasn't doing anything, it was the piece of soul inside of it. And it wasn't doing anything, it was just the evilness of it was feeding on Ron's insecurities.
