Tell me what your favorite part in the LOTR movies is. Personally, mine is during the Siege of Gondor, when Grond busts the Gates and the attack trolls beat up the Gondorians. Also, in the Extended Edition of ROTWK, the part when the Witch King's sword ignites, "This is my hour!" _________________

Okay...massive edit...
My favorite scene is the lighting of the beacons. From Pippin's climb, then to each beacon being lit, then to Aragorn's surpised and urgent reaction and then to King Theoden's reply, "...and Rohan will answer!", I just get so excited!
Honorable mentions:
I really love the Hobbit scenes before the journey begins. The grumpy Hobbit (who shakes his head at Gandalf in the first, then at the 4 in the third film) is so classic! This is random, but I love a really brief shot of a drunken Hobbit at the keg during Bilbo's birthday party. Still cracks me up!
Another favorite may be when Eowyn gives Aragorn her nasty soup and he burns his hand; then tells her his true age...there's humor, emotion, sincerity-of-character in that bit.
-Gollum/Smeagol's back and forth conversation during Two Towers.
-Aragorn cuts off the head of "the mouth of Sauron"...is that its name? |

I'd have to go with the battle of Helm's Deep in Two Towers. You're getting pumped up for this massive battle, then all of a sudden it starts raining. You get the rain clinking on the armor. Sure, you've got Legolas' lame shield-surfing, but overall it was a cool battle.
The whole series was just so great, it was really hard to pick just one. _________________

My favorite scene in LOTR was the final battle scene in the last movie. Legolas still is my favorite. _________________

Yeah, I meant from the extended version of ROTK. He spoke of Frodo's capture and held out the Mithril shirt that Frodo had worn. Aragorn had enough of that nasty mouth's talk, so he cut off his head. Cool!
Aragorn fighting Lurtz was also cool. The choreography was great, Lurtz licking the dagger was nasty, and Viggo/Aragorn, on his first try (said whoever was giving the behind-the-scenes commentary), destroyed the dagger w/ his sword when Lurtz hurled it at him. |

My favorite scene was in Two Towers when Gimli tells Aragorn to toss him and Aragorn looks at him and Gimli tells him not to tell the elf which is Legolas _________________

I loved all the scenes with the Balrog
When Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas were running and they first came across Eomer and the Rohirrim and Aragorn yells "Riders or Rohan! What news from the Mark" and they start to turn.... so awesome. I get chills every time
Boromair's last battle and Deathscene were beautifully done, Sean Bean is my secret daddy
Gollum, Sam, and Frodo in Mount Doom
All of Pelenor Fields
Sam fighting Shelob
The ents attacking Isengard
The scene in the extended TT where they show Faramir and Boromair together
The Rohirrim charging at Pelenor fields
I couldn't pick just one _________________

My favorite scene is actually from the book. In the Return of the King when Sam takes Frodo up the mountain there's this one line, "His will is set and only death could break it."
EPIC |

Favorite scene is when the Rohan riders charge down the battlefield and crash into Mordors army. Just amazing. _________________

OKay so. I gave these movies another chance. And I loved them.
Any parts with Sam are great. He's just such an awesome character.
But I'm gonna have to go with Dar on this one--Battle of Helm's deep was awesome. Even if Legolas did "shielf-surf." _________________

ouch this is painful, i loved the whole movie. hard 2 choose.
-itll hav 2 be the whole of the last battle,
-when the orcs and gondor soldiers shoot catputls at each other, with the -heads and the huge stone walls of minas tirith,
-theoden's speech,
-the flanking of the orcs,
-the appearance of the olyfants
-when legolas lakes down the oylfant and gimli says 'that still counts as 1.'
-the part where the ghosts come out of the ship. really sweet. _________________ ^ words by a wise man
