Private Messaging (PM) has been re-enabled on our website. There are additional rules related to Private Messaging that can be found in our Forum Rules. Anyone that violates our PM rules will have their Private Messaging privileges removed.
Our community experienced some major problems with PM in the past. If this continues, it will be disabled again indefinitely. Below is the original announcement regarding PM being disabled. It is posted here so that you can review the previous problems:
ANNOUNCEMENT WHEN PRIVATE MESSAGING WAS DISABLED:
Private Messaging (PM) has been disabled on our forums. Many people have been abusing this privilege by advertising other websites via PM, or by harassing other members. This behavior is against our forum rules and is unacceptable. For at least the near future, PM abilities will be disabled. If anyone needs to contact an administrator, they can post in the Help, Questions, and Support forum.
Additionally, the Free Promotion forum will be locked indefinately. Promoting other websites in any other area is against the rules of our forums. It is wrong for members to be recruiting members of our site to join their forums. Anyone that violates this rule will receive disciplinary action.
The action of a few has negatively affected the enjoyment of this site for others. This has not been taken lightly. If anyone has any questions or concerns, they can contact me directly by email at webmaster@potterforums.com.
