So as of next week i will be a Mac owner and windows will be a thing of the past! The comp will be a Photo editing/Home theater hybrid. Specs below...
Computer:
Apple Mini Mac-1.83ghz,80g hd,1gig memory
Monitor-Acer 19inch widescreen lcd
External Hard drive- Lacie Porsche 250gb
Keyboard/mouse- Macnally desktop kit
Tv tuner- Elgato eye tv
Its going to come out to 1000bucks, and its totally worth every penny! Windows is fun and all but Leopard is the fastest OS on the market and to me the best looking. Any other mac users in here?! _________________ Photography is my passion.

I got a macbook but i still use windows half the time. I dual boot windows xp professional and mac os 10.4. If you ask me, which no one did, they both are not very good at all. Even leopard and vista both have problems, no matter what those stupid commercials say. mac is better for video editing and stuff like that where windows is better for gaming.
If you want to rip dvds onto your mac get handbrake and mac the ripper. thats what i use but i still only have 10.4 so youll proly use something different.
have fum with your new mac. im going to go back to trying to figure out how to triple boot mac os 10, windows and linux. _________________ Freedom isn't free but, the United States Marine Corps will pay for most of your share. CoD4 |

Vista has alot more problems then Leopard. Leopard is the fastest OS out there when it comes to the Vista/mac ish. Plus for many internships im looking into require me to use Mac. _________________ Photography is my passion.

dont get me wrong, leopard is a good system. im just saying its not as lop sided as alot of people say it is. my room mate has vista and he doesn't have any problems. i also know people who use leopard that dont have any problems.
just make sure your external hard drive has fire wire. it will be alot faster that usb 2.0 _________________ Freedom isn't free but, the United States Marine Corps will pay for most of your share. CoD4 |

3000 is with all the bells and whistles like the solid state hard drive which is a plus. Id drop 2000 or so on it. No need for the 1.8g core 2duo for me. _________________ Photography is my passion.
