Anyone else read the Sword of Truth series, by Terry Goodkind?
Thoughts on Confessor, which comes out VERY soon? |

It's an epic series that isn't exactly explained so great in a few words.
It's a series that I'd recommend to adults, but I myself started reading it at 14. There are themes in there that I don't think children would understand, and quite frankly, I wouldn't want a kid reading about some of the themes, but it's a great story. They're making a mini-series based on the first novel of the series...supposed to come out sometime in 2008.
It's basically centered around a character named Richard Cypher, a woods guide, and his "adventures." It has wizards, sorceresses, magic, dragons, and all that, but also has a lot of great philosophical elements to it (I hate philosophy, so this says something that I love this series), and just a great charactarization of human beings. |

I definately recommend it.
The newest (and final) book of the series just came out this week.
I seriously am going crazy not being able to read it. |

| I've read 5 or 6 of the books. Good series. I like the Mordsith. |

YAAAAY. Someone else who's actually read them.
The Mord-Sith are definately awesome.
You should definately continue on with the series, Tigerlily. Book 10 especially recaps a lot of unanswered questions from the first book. _________________

| They are good. I have picked up all the books through 10 and just need to get through them yet. I love the fantasy genre and tend to read it more than anything. My favorite being the Wheel of Time series. I must say the Sword of truth series is quite an original. It's fantasy with almost a Stephen King feel to it. I do like it. |

That's because Goodkind incorporates a lot of philosophical themes into his work, mainly objectivism. I'm not a fan of King's works, so I can't say if there are any similarities there.
Looking forward to the miniseries? _________________

Check it out sometime, Kevin. It's really good. Sex, violence, murder, humor...what more can you ask for? _________________

Dude...lots. Seriously. haha. Not always good sex (a lot of rape scenes...but there's some actual decent ones in there too haha). Even if you don't want to read the books, check out the miniseries comingout soon! I'm hoping it'll be on HBO or something, so they dont' edit it to hell and back. _________________

Awesome! When you read it, let me know what you think.
I'm re-reading the series myself right now. Just don't read them out of order like I did...had to re-read the whole series just to fill in some blanks. _________________
