Is Anybody going to see Sweeney Todd ? It was a play from the 1800's that they remade into a musical. i can't wait...
Sweeney Todd is directed by Tim Burton(the guy who made nightmare before Christmas) starring Johnny Depp(Cpt Jack Sparrow from POTC), Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman(Proffesor Snape from HP), and Sacha Baron Cohen. Also, the guy who plays Wormtail is in the movie. =P

With the exception of Big Fish, Burton is one letdown of a movie director. Depp has lost all appeal to me. As much as I love Baron Cohen and Rickman, I won't be seeing it.

I don't enjoy his movies. Therefore, he is a letdown to me. I can't make it any simpler.

I saw the movie and thought it was amazing. Helena Bonham Carter was incredible as was Johnny Depp. Of course I loved Alan Rickman, too. Oh, and Timothy Spall, Peter Pettigrew, was in it and he was also really good.
Some people made comments about how Helena Bonham Carter was only cast in the part of Mrs. Lovett just because of her husband. But after seeing her in the film no one can possibly argue that she was miscast.
The story itself was great, it had some amazing themes and underlying subtext about trust and forgiveness and looking past what you see and all that other great stuff.
I want to see it again the first chance I get.

Helena Bonham Carter is an incredible actor, no matter what the reason is that she gets cast. Johnny Depp only got cast because he and Tim Burton are good friends . . . Nobody is complaining about that.

I think Depp got that part because he is an amazing actor and he has had much experience with sharp objects before. (Remember Edward Scissorhands ?)

lol Edward Scissorhands was so cute. I like when he pokes all the holes in the water bed.
Uh yeh...he is Tim Burton's kid's godfather and they are very close but Depp is a fantastic actor

I wasn't knocking Johnny as an actor, I was merely pointing out that a person being casted because he/she has a close relationship with the director doesn't meant that the person doesn't have talent.

OMG, I just found out that Johnney, Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton are all really great friends, so thats why Helena and Johnney have been in so many movies together.
They were both in...
Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Corpse Bride...
and heeps other movies.

Good Friends? Helena Bonham Carter just had Tim's baby. I'm pretty sure they are more than "just friends." 
And, yeah, Tim and Johnny are good friends, but Johnny also happens to be really talented. So it isn't like Tim is casting his crappy friend because he feels obligated. Also, Tim and Johnny became friends while working together. It isn't like they were childhood chums who made a pact that for every film Tim made, Johnny would be cast in a part.

Awesome coincidence, huh? Not surprising, though... HP tends to cast some of the best actors in Britain, so it's not unheard of for them to bump into each other in other films... in fact it happens A lot.
Well, the character Helena plays in Sweeney Todd is a little unhinged, to say the least. But still different from Bella.

Yeah, I`ve noticed (about best actors). It does happen a lot, but I start to feel they have a lack of good actors. Of course those are great, but still...

Her hair alwasy looks similar, lol. Her hair is curly and when it gets piled up on top of her head it looks similar.
