yea i agree... i think lily was just shallow and wanted to get with a hunky seeker from Gryffindor.

Voldemort knew Snape's mother?
Rrrrrrriiiiiiiiiigggghhhht.
Remember that Snape, was hanging around with Avery as said in the Prince's Tale chapter, and at the chapter Horcruxes, Avery is sitting in the same room - Sluggy's office? - with Voldemort. So Snape and Voldemort had a tiny age gap - maybe 4-5 years. Nnnuuh, I don't think Snape's mother was five when she gave birth. Razz

Now, as to break the fairytale, Lily was not in love with Snape. Maybe she might have fell in love with him if not for his friendships (Mulciber, Avery) but no, she mostly loved him as a friend - no matter how could it have been ended if not for Snape's... cleverness. Now why did Lily go for James... remember James had no label over his head: "Take him, he loves you more". Sirius says, in the fifth book, that they started going out on the seventh year, where James had started to get a bit more mature. We also know that all chances were ruined by Snape himself at the DADA O.W.Ls. Also take the fact that Lily gave James another chance, but she didn't give Snape one. In short... yeah, she's shallow.

james dies for lily and harry!!!!!!! James realli was nice! anyways....

i think it was a case of falling for the enemy...lily never saw what james was realli lyke and after one forced date lily realised that james was a good guy, there fore falling for him......

If she didnt love james then why'd she agree to go out with him, let alone marry him, to back it up get freaky together and have harry

Because James loved her from day one? Because he always tried to impress her and would basically do anything she asked him to (in Snapes Worst Memory he lets him go for Lilys sake) just because he cared about her? Because he was never really interested in any other girl apart from Lily? Because he had great friends who he always stuck by, and was friends with for the whole 7 years of school and even after that? Because he was friends with Peter; lets face it, Peter was the underdog of the whole year and even though they may not have liked him at first they gave him a chance and were patient with him; even when they all became Animagi and Peter had a load of trouble they still helped him and didnt just leave him.
Because he REALLY did stick by his friends? Remus was a warewolf and when he found that out he didnt desert him like Remus thought, he did the best thing he could.
Sirius and Remus both say that James was the best friend they had ever had, and people have a bad image of him because of Snapes perspective.
James was completly devoted to Lily... even if he could be a jerk sometimes and was prone to showing off, he never treated her with anything other then kindness. He was always the one to stand up for her; I got the impression that he was very protective.
He was brave and loyal and everything a Griffindor should be. He was smart and good at spells and Quidditch. He got into trouble and played pranks (the mauraders were the original Fred and George)

I could list a million reasons why Lily would fall for James. And she never loved Severus. Dont you have that one friend who you've known pretty much your whole life? That you are really close to and really like? Do you see yourself falling madly in love with them running away together getting married and having kids? Probobly not.

Just because they were friends, doesnt mean they were 'secretly in love'.

Out of anger, because Lily was mad at him and Snape had called her a Mudblood. Who wouldnt have done the same thing?
