I like the idea of Dumbledore and McGonagall being together.
JKR said that she has kept the spouses secret, because they play an important role in the last book. I can't really see her introducing any major new characters this late in the game. Besides, as Hogwarts is a boarding school, it would be more difficult to be married to anyone but another teacher.

imagine if dumbledore and mcgonagall were married, and wanted to have a kid. students will be talking and laughing when they see dumbledore leaving mcgonagall's dormitory...

Supposedly we are going to learn more about DD's past in the 7th book, that is what i haerd on a JK niterview. There aren't any cues but i think McGonagal and DD wouldn't make a bad couple

I've always thought that it would be a romantic ideal that McGonagall and Dumbledore had to make the same choice as Harry/Ginny had to make at the end of HBP. There's would of course come when Voldemort came to power the first time. I thought it would of been romantic to reveal that at Dumbledore's funeral, as a deterrent to Harry. Perhaps it will become apparent to him in book 7 and spurs him to get the relationship with Ginny back on.
...but that's the romantic in me. Story parallels, dovetailing, and the such. |
