I agree. I loved the first movie the most. I hated it when the directors started having the characters wearing jeans and "muggle" clothes, etc., in an attempt to make it more "realistic", and "closer to home".

The first director should come back for the 7th movie, IMO

Oh and they should honestly either start breaking up the movies into separate blocks(movie 7 part 1, movie 7 part 2), or remake the movies.

I'd really like to see a remake of all of the movies by different directors. In a few decades, maybe Smile

Wow, I completely disagree. I though it was the best by far. This was my favorite book (before the 7th) and it is now my favorite movie. I really thought everything about this movie was better. I think they did a good job of choosing the most important things from the book and I thought the special effects were great. I'm surprised that so many people didn't like it.

it's not so bad... not my fav harry potter movie though...

anyway, i agree with others about...
-no dobby, quidditch is just so sad
-movie too short.. i'm agree of making 2 part of it..
-others who doesnt read the book wouldnt understand the movie.. <yeah, my sis is one of em>

however, there are something from the movie that i loved..
-luna lovegood.. luckily no disappointment about her acting ^_^
-dumbledore-voldy battle.. it's just look so good...
-the battle at ministry of magic.. it sure costs a lot..
-all the DA scene...
-fred n george of cos!
-the starter.. mrs figg n everythin..

It definitely wasn`t the worst so I don`t agree.
ALthough there were many important and ... sweet things that were left out I enjoyed it very much.

It was my favorite. Obviously, you have some great points on why it could be labelled bad, but I quite enjoyed it myself.

They left out alot of things, but I guess that is just the loss for the people who only watch the movie. It's their fault they haven't actually picked up a HP book and started to read it.

But for the hardcore HP fans, you should be a little bit more happy, I suppose, these movies only give us a look at the character through a hollywood perspective. I mean, it'd be worse if no one even made a HP movie.

Because, myself, I started to read the books after watching HP5. I thought it was amazing, and it's truley what started me being a true fan of HP. Before the fifth film, I was like "Yeah, HP is alright..."

To enjoy a movie, you don't pay that much attention to the actors and sound effects flaws. You watch the movie. Simply because otherwise, every existing movie is awful. I found it an enjoyable movie.

I thought they left out a lot of info in OotP, but that was done in all of the other movies as well

But what i really missed was harry´s temper and suffering, it was just missing

but i really liked it! i saw it 3 times!!

I can honestly say I was disappointed by the movie...too much was left out and changed. As a fan of the book, I went in wanting to see things that weren't there. I was upset by some of the stuff that was changed because some of it completely went against things in the book.

It makes me worry about what they'll do in the sixth and seventh movies.

Does JKR have the power to step in and say..."No, that's not how that works?"

I miss you mistress-mu...but anyways!

I'm half and half on agreeing with the main point of this topic. If your the type of person that reads the books, then the movie was a little disappointment. If not, then you loved it. I looked it from both ways.

First, reading the book. I missed all of the scenes. From St. Mungo's to see Mr. Weasley, Gildroy Lockhart and Neville's Parents. I wanted to see that real badly. Also with the damn spells. They got them all wrong. Stupefy was supposed to be a red jet of light, not what they showed. Then levicorpus. Harry doesn't learn that until Half Blood Prince. The only two that were actually good were bombarda and Avada Kedavra.

Second, from the people who haven't read the book. If I didn't read the book I would've thought the movie was amazing. From the special effects, casting and screen play. The special effects in this movie were amazing. They did an excellent job showing the battle at the Department of Mysteries. I also loved the casting. They cast a great person to play Tonks. She did an amazing job in my opinion. Same with Bellatrix. Last, the screenplay was great too.

So there is some of my thoughts.

I have to say that this movie was a disappointment on my end BUT! It did get my boyfriend to start reading the books.. finally..

Anyways, My feelinsg are this:
- The editting was horrible. It was like someone was just like cutting huge chunks here and there.
- Did anyone else feel like Ginny's character was just about to get a line in when, SNIP! editted out.. ?
- It was horribly disjointed. My boyfriend kept asking me questions about why this happened or that happened.
- It was confusing.
- Too short.
- I will say though that Umbridge was perfect.
- I has highly dissappointed with the OWLs part with the Twins.
- I just thought it funny that we go from Harry being a gloomy, angry guy to the next scene smiley, DADA teacher with nothing really inbetween..
- Luna was good.. thought not enough development..
- NO DEVELOPMENT!

Actually I could go on but.. I'm good for the moment..

yea, it was pretty horible alothough most story lines for movies are gone very down hill, i mean singing chimpmonks?. I thought the second movie was the best, it had great detail of the chamber a followed basicly everything in the book but it did miss out on a few things. VERY, very dissapointed in the flashbacks in hp5, they were all quick and thats what i wanted to see most. *BLAH*

Yes, it followed the book well, but I found it boring. They could've done so much more with it! For one, like ranëoira stated, it was too short! Where were the emotional scenes? Where were the epic battles? Where was the scene where Ron gets attacked by a brain? I was expecting so much out of it, so of course I was disappointed.

i don't know why David Yates want to modernize the Hp franchise by bringing voldy in suit and other stuff that really makes me hate him and often wish if he wasn't back for the sixth film.
The other mistakes are that he just change stuff or make stuff up and don't really put the important stuff in the movie that is key to the plot
I wished WB brought back Chris Columbus he would have made it much better.
And i don't know why but all the potterfans seems to like this yates guy who i thinks sucks. He is so cheap

and ppl why are you bringing goblet of fire in this topic going off topic and making excuses that it was the best
I am a great fan of the 5th book BUT the movie was the worst of the series
Goblet of Fire wasn't the best but it was much much better than this one. I don't wanna go off topic but thats the truth

I'm disappointed that Harry was so stoic in the aftermath of Sirius' death. This was in stark contrast to what happened in the book, and if they were going to be faithful at all, they needed to include turbulant emotional reactions.

These are still kids. Harry hasn't yet earned that mature stoicism.

I am not one for action movies, my fiancee is. I had read the books when this movie came out, he had not yet. I walked out of the theater saying this was a shame to the book, he walked out saying "awesome fight scene." My Point Movie is enjoyable if you try to forget about all the details of the book, It is a large book and will not completely be covered. Yes, he left out important parts. Yes, it was some what poorly done. Buts, as for everyone wanting the originally director back. I agree, he stuck as close to the books as possible, but he left because he was also the producer (I believe that is the role he had, don't take my word exactly, I just remember he had another large role in the movie) and after the second movie it had become to difficult to be managing both of such an epic movie.
