I read it. It is incredibley sad. I couldn't even imagine living that kind of existence. It is worse than Harry's childhood, and I want to cry every time I read the first few chapters of SS. I cried like a baby when I read A Chile Called It. _________________

I've heard a ton about it, but haven't read it yet myself. It looks so sad though! _________________

If you have not read it.. I recommend reading it.. if only to alert people to the horrors of child abuse.
This book is the reason that I am going in to Social Work.
It is extremely sad. and will probably have most people who read it in tears. I know i was in tears when i read it. _________________

It is about a boy who is abused as a child. His mother just sort of slowly went crazy, his dad just sort of faded out instead of dealing with the problems at home. Dave's mother started referring to him as it. She starved him, made him sleep in a dog bed in the garage, and left him in the bathroom with a bathtub full of pnemonia for long periods of time until her would faint from the fumes. These are just a few things that I could remember. These things went on for years until an adult from his school actually took notice of Dave's conditiona and called social services. There were two sequals to this book: The Lost Boy and A Man Named Dave. _________________

^ I looked it up, and there is one caleed The Privelege of youth. There is also a book by his brother called A Brother's Journey. It is about what happened after David was taken out of the house. I don't understand why social services would take only the abused child and leave the others with the abuser. _________________
