I believe that, against what Harry Said at the end of Book Six, Horwartz will reopen and Harry will be attending. Does anyone else believe this or disagree. I want to hear other ideas. Maybe Harry will end up not going back to school. Well, I want to know your opinions! Very Happy

i want him to return to hogwarts but as i said before in another thing he has to get off his butt and do sumthing about voldermort cos albus died!

he wont be returning to hogwarts if u remember rowling said the should only be seven books so this should finish it if anything he will return every once and awhile for private lesson to help him finish voldemort

I do not think he will be returning, I mean he is the only one who can defeat Voldie and I dont think he will be able to find and destoy all the horcruxes and attend school at the same time and in the state of things i really doubt they would reopen Hogwarts. Its very very unlikely.

I know we want Harry to avenge Dumbledore's murder but I think we must think that Dumbledore would have wanted that and that he had a reason to die( maybe helping harry be closer to defeating Voldie) We may not see it now but i think it will be all clear in the next book.

harry may have to return to hogwarts remember harry has no idea how to start looking for or how to destory the horcruxes so he may need to return to hogwarts to speak with dumbledores photo.

I think Harry has to return, at least for part of the year. Maybe the slaying of voldie wont take toooo long? ( i know i know.... Rolling Eyes

) I just think that because hogwarts is such an integral part of the wizarding world that it can't truly be closed....

I think he will return, but not to study, maybe to do some research or something like that. I think that hogwarts will remain open ( seeing as its one of the safest places) but i dont see it being a normal school year, in the middle of a wizarding war. I doubt Harry ,Hermione and Ron will go back to "study" there....

I agree as well. He won't go there to attend classes, but maybe to try to find some clue that will help him out. Something Dumbledore has left behind?

I agree that he will speak with Dumbledore's portrait, but most of the book will take place looking for the Horcruxes, outside of Hogwarts.

Then again, wouldn't it be cool if the ending show-down between Harry and Voldemort took place like in the Great Hall or something? That's possible.

That WOULD be great if the last showdown took place in the Great Hall. Or how about if Harry and Snape have a showdown in the potions Dungeon, lol. I have this gut feeling that Voldemort will come for Harry at Godrics Hollow. Harry will make it his base, and he will take out all the HOrcruxes, and voldie will come for him. Everything comes full circle.

I stand by Snape, I dont think he's evil. But the Showdown will be great! Harry believing that Snape killed Dumbledore, Snape standing beside Voldie,With Wormtail and Malfoy and then suddenly then betray Voldie and help Harry. Smile

Spells flying everywere. God i cant wait for the last book. My imagination runs wild

I think the last battle should be at Hogwarts. It would be Perfect:)! Razz

This could be a possibility. In HBP, we learn that Voldemort was happiest at Hogwarts during his youth, just like Harry. It might be his desire to finish Harry off there.
A showdown at the Great Hall would be AWESOME!

I think the final battle should be in the Forbidden Forest. Y'know, with the cenataurs and hippogriffs and Grawp and all those other beings in there that are probably loyal to Harry. I don't think the final showdown will be just voldie vs harry. They will fight, but I think the rest of the wizarding world will be in as well. It would be nice to see Malfoy finally switch to harry's side.

Harry could seek him out after destroying the Horcruxes. But I think Hogwarts should be the place. A battle on the castle ramparts would be cool...

[i kinda think hogwarts will reopen..............but i think its highly improbable that harry will return to school. hes lost all those whom he thought closest to him......except for mayb the weasleys, hermione and hagrid. hes crazy bout revenge and mite want to leave, look for the other horcruxes and vanquish voldemort whos killed all his near and dear.

I have another thought...... Were does Dumbledore have other portraits????? In the meeting hall of the Order of the Pheonix, Harry's new house???? Now Harry being 17 will he be allowed into the Order?

im pretty sure that harry will not only join the order but take over its operations. he seems like the only sensible person for the job.

Harry has to return to Hogwarts for many reasons:
1. As far as we know Godric's Hollow is not safe. Hogwarts and #12 Grimwauld place are the safest places for Harry to stay.
2. Hogwarts is Harry's home. He needs to connect with some of his friends there.
3. He has to learn how to do nonverbal spells and Occlumency. Snape said it himself. "Blocked again and again until you learn to keep your mouth shut and your mind closed, Potter!" Where will he learn these things? He needs a good legilimens practitioner who is good at occlumency. Professor Slughorn is pretty good at it according to Dumbledore. p.372 HBP Harry says, "you don't need me- you could use
Legilimency ...or veritaserum..." "Professor Slughorn is an extremely capable wizard who will be expecting both," said Dumbledore. "He is much more accomplished at Occlumency than poor Morfin Gaunt."
Whether Harry will be a full time student or not. I don't think he will be actually taking classes, but he will preparing for his defeat of Voldemort.
4. Needs to talk to Dumbledore's portrait and maybe see some of the memories he has left behind in those bottles. Maybe, Dumbledore kept his memories of his conversations with Snape, to prove that Snape was loyal to him.
5. He may need Hogwart's library to research different possible magical objects that Voldemort may have used for a Horcrux.
He will probably leave Hogwarts frequently throughout the year to track down Horcruxs and destroy them.
THIS IS ALL DEPENDANT UPON WHETHER DUMBLEDORE IS REALLY DEAD OR NOT. See subject: Dumbledore's return and peruse Pockets full of Crap's postings.
If Dumbledore faked his death and is still alive, McGonagall would take over as headmistress at hogwarts. Dumbledore still could be secret keeper and the Head of the Order. He may even be staying at #12 Grimwauld place. He could act in an advisory capacity to Harry, but he can't be seen. He could either advise Harry directly or through others.
He might even be the one who teaches Harry Occlumency and nonverbal spells. Dumbledore has way too much to teach Harry to be dead.

Where the final battle takes place depends on if Nagini has already been eliminated. The snake is a horcrux and must be taken care of either before the final battle or during the final battle. Does Voldemort travel to battles with the snake in tow? He conjured one during the fight with Dumbledore, but was it Nagini? I don't think so.

If the final battle ends up taking place at Hogwarts then it is quite possible that a few of the creatures from the forrest may join in. The Centaurs maybe but they have such a disdain for humans that I doubt it. Buckbeak will help, Grawp out of loyalty to Hagrid, the thestrals? It is difficult to say exactly.

I'm sure the job is, at least until VL dies at Harry's hands..... When Harry got Godrick's sword out of the hat and was able to use it, DD said he had to be a true Gryffendor to pull the sword out of the hat!!!!!! Did DD mean him to be a decendant or a member of the house????
