Do you think DD is actually dead?? I believe that he's dead but he asked Snape to kill him for some odd reason that I've yet to come up with..but any way PLEASE tell me what you think!

I think he's dead. I can understand some of the theories that say that he isn't dead, but they don't really seem to fit in with the feeling of the rest of the books. In fact, I'm really hoping he doesn't come back, because that would ruin the books for me. It would make them seem like a really bad soap opera.

All of the other websites say that if he comes back, it will be because of a Horcrux that someone performed. I personally think that Dumbledore shouldn't come back, even if it is on a painting. I thought you had to leave an imprint of yourself while you are alive to even do that? Or was that for ghosts only?

I think he is dead yes. Although I wish he wasnt. That was definately the saddest part ever...

He should come back through a painting, that would be nice knowing that he's not gone forever but not coming back from the dead either lol

yeah he is permanently dead. but jkr said that even if he's dead, there will still be bits of dumbledore which are very important. im betting the portrait would be able to help harry; but harry cant go hanging in there all the time since he is not coming back to hogwarts, at least for studying. and then there is the pensieve of dumbledore. im not so sure that harry should delve in it since that's kinda private. and then you also have the history of dumbledore; maybe it is gonna be revealed how he became so, why voldie is afraid of him, why he spent his time eradicating the dark forces. so even though dumbledore is really dead, there are still so many questions about him that have to be answered. so even if jkr told dan that she is having a hard time with dd, i think she meant that there are still so many unanswered questions about him that are relevant to the story. not necessarily that he's gonna come back to life.

I don't think hes dead at all. But he may be but I think he has yet another trick up his sleeve. And Snape isn't really on Voldemorts side at all. I think Dumbledore told him to do that so Snape could get as close to voldemort than any other person. Quote me if you will.

He is dead and that is that.... I think we are all thinking way too hard, the answer might be basic and simple. But i am hoping for a twist in the 7th book.

dead and will stay dead. the only dead i see returning to life is sirius, since his body wasn't separated from his soul. the veil kills him but drags his body inside the world of death. DD got his soul separated by the killing curse. he's not coming back. nor even all the others that died a normal death

i agree with Panzer_Pandora, but maybe DD wanted Snape to kill him, cuz he didn't say dont kill me Snape, he said Snape, please, he kept saying that over and over again.

yeah.. I do think that he is really dead.. But Harry will still be able to talk to him through his portrate at Hogwarts.
