^thanks professor^

UPDATE: (not that anybody really cares, lol)

But my main producer and D.P. flaked on the project at the last minute, bastards!!!! Evil or Very Mad

So this is one hell of a crazy week, I managed to get a camera for this weekends shoot, hopefully will keep the actors in check, and not have em flake out and please the maker, have this shoot go well this weekend and get completed principal shots for post.

Damn, a crazy night, from me having a production meeting in a place that doesn't exist (I find out when I get to the address) to changing the entire schedual last minute for a mid night shoot instead of noon shoot, loosing my permits with the producer, so I have to gorilla shoot the whole thing (if you dont here from me in a month, it's cause I was in jail) to having 3 different guys in downtown try to sell me some crack. Gotta love southern California, lol.

Anyways, thats just an update, but hopefully all will go well and I will get what I need to create this final product.

OK, not in jail yet, lol. I actually changed the shoot dates to December 8th and 9th.

I shot a 2 minute test sequence this past sat. called "bunny hop". I am editing the sound for it, but also producing and gathering a huge team of producers.
Here are some freeze frames. The FX is still much a work in progress though.

Permits for a little video? Thats a little insane. I used to video tape us skating all the time back in the day with no hassels. This isnt a big movie by all means you shouldnt get introuble.

^^^ Actually, to be honest with you, me filming 3 actors in costume's running through the busy streets of downtown San Diego all day is something that will attract the police. It's nothing like a skate video where you just do it. there is actually shot set ups, and, well, the whole 9 yards.

It also doesn't help that we have VERY expensive equipment like dolly's, boom mikes, jib arms, and well, it's kinda a hardcore independent shoot. We will rip up downtown San Diego for two days straight. I know for a fact we will be asked for permits. I've been there before, not in and out, but there to stay till where done, better to get what we need and be professional.

EDIT: I like to say this is a little video shoot, but I have two associate producers, two producers, and an L.A. co-producer. All in all, it is actually kinda large with cast and crew. I actually got funding for this as well and maybe some product placement. Overall, it's total bullshit we need permits, but trust me, we need em to shoot in a busy downtown district for two solid full days..

Seems to me your taking harry potter a little to seriously. Come up with your own ideas. Plus. Permits are needed for skateboarding videos and skateboarding IS illegal, walking around in a costume idolizing a fictional character isnt. Trekkies do it everyday.

^^ You clearly dont have a clue what you are talking about, dont fuss with me bro, I make films professionally and I know what I am talking about. Did you know it is actually illegal to take 1 still photograph without a permit? It is. It just depends all upon the fashion in which you decide to do so.

If you go out and follow a guy in a costume with a camera, no worries, when your a bit more professional and have a cast and crew and shot setups and the WHOLE 9 YARDS which is different from what you speak of, 2-3 yeards, well, maybe you cant figure that out, but there IS a difference!!!.
In case you didn't know, 99% of all short films never make there money back, so why not make a short fan film while your at it? As for something original, I have many ideas and other films I am doing, but this movie is original, I just have wands, in fact, the only reason this is at all considered HP fan film is cause there's death eaters and spells that JKR had.

None of the HP characters are in it, it's just an expansion on the HP universe. So it IS filled with originality.

And yeah, I am busting my ass to make this, if you dont expect that from any movie you make, then your not a filmmaker, blood, mud, sweat, and tears are mandatory in making movies.

Overall, it is for a wand dual contest, I am just getting VERY ambitious and over the top. Very Happy If your gonna go, go all the way. Overall, there is a difference in you running around with a camera filming stuff, then you making a movie, you gotta learn the difference before you can see it I guess.

EDIT: If your not going to take hardwork seriously, regardless of subject matter, then you will fail at it and nobody else will take you seriously.

Awesome job. No, really. TERRIFIC. But the only sad thing about these is that ALL of these people are lazy. How many YouTube searches appear with "SAMPLE OF WHAT I'M REALLY MAKING"....and do we ever SEE the actual MOVIE? No. I hope this is different, because this is some of the best I've seen!

^^ Thanks, and yes, I am still set with a december 24th release date. The movie will have an official website for better quality.

And Mr.Morril, I am really sorry for my anger in that past post, I am under a BUNCH of stress and am sorry to be a jerk towards your logical statements. Just stating the facts of professional film productions, If I get busted by the cops without a permit, they will say move along, if they catch me at all twice in the same weekend, well, I am now in serious deep shit, I've been through it before on shoots. Hope you understand. I will totally release this project on these boards in December. : )
