Hey everyone!
I've got another item to support Pockets' theory that Dumbledore planned to fake his own death.
The Astronomy Tower being the tallest tower in the Castle has to be more than 9 stories high. (There's at least 7 stories to the regular castle and then all of these individual towers, ie: like Dumbledore's, Trewlaney's, and Flintwick's offices/rooms) The tower may be closer to 10-12 stories high. Each story is approximately 8-9 feet high thinking modestly. Therefore, the tower is approximately 90 feet or more off the ground. Now, imagine falling from that height. Even if you were dead before you hit the ground, wouldn't there be more damage to your body? Like a broken skull, broken arms/legs etc from the impact? A little gross ya.
HBP p.608 but there was still no preparation for seeing him here, spread-eagled, broken: the greatest wizard Harry had ever, or would ever, meet.
Dumbledore's eyes were closed ; but for a strange angle of his arms and legs, he might have been sleeping. Harry reached out, straightened the half-mooned spectacles upon the crooked nose, and wiped a trickle of blood from the mouth with his own sleeve.
This gets Curiousor and Curiousor......
1. He falls 90 feet or more but still lands spread-eagled? When he fell it says, "he seemed to hang suspended beneath the shining skull, and then he fell slowly backward, like a great rag doll, over the embattlements and out of sight. Wouldn't this mean that his head and torso went first with his feet over his head, sort of tumbling? So how did he land spread eagle?
2. His eyes were closed. In the description of Cedric dying from the Avada Kedavra curse in GOF Cedric was also spread-eagled but he didn't also fall 90 feet.
Cedric was lying spread-eagled on the ground beside him. He was dead. For a second that contained an eternity, Harry stared into Cedric's face, at his open gray eyes, blank and expressionless as the windows of a deserted house, at his half-opened mouth, which looked slightly surprised.
Who closed Dumbledore's eyes? If Snape did a true Avada Kedavra curse Dumbledore would have died instantly with his eyes open, staring blankly with his face having a pleading look on his face like Cedric's face.
3.JKR mentions that he is spread eagle again by saying, but for the strange angle of his arms and legs, he might have been sleeping. He looks like he is sleeping? Have you ever seen a dead body before the mortician puts make up on them? Harry saw Dumbledore approximately 30 minutes after he supposedly died. Dumbledore should have had a bluish gray tint to his skin. With all the lit wands around the body his color should have been discernible. He shouldn't have looked like he was merely sleeping.
3. Where the blood in his mouth came from I don't know. Bodies don't bleed after they are dead. So it is not from the fall. From what Dumbledore said about the curse, is that there are no discernible signs.
Does any of this make sense? _________________ You're just jealous cause the voices only talk to me!
Ive never seen a dead body but ive heard people also say that it looked as it had been sleeping (when it is not a violent death etc). I think the blood on his mouth is really mysterious there has to be something more to that. But what? I think DD is smart enough to know there is no traces when the spell is used so why the blood? _________________
Maybe the blood has to do more with the results from the potion he had just drunk. Maybe being thrown back like that he might have accidentally bit his lip or tongue. Maybe, it wasn't blood but some sleeping draught he took. But, I think we all can agree that it wasn't from the avadakedavra curse. Because, it leaves no mark. Does anyone remember what the sleeping draught looked like? Was it blood red? I'll have to look that one up. * The sleeping draught actually is a pale lilac color. _________________ You're just jealous cause the voices only talk to me!
OK Here goes Dumbledore is not dead.... i'm 100% sure that he is gon be back in book 7... here's my theory... remmber in book 6 when hagrid accidentally spilled to harry and hemione that he overheard snape and dumbledore arguing... i think the reason they wer arguing was that dumbledore wanted snape to kill him infront of the death eaters so that LV would think that he's dead, and snape didnt want to do it... and he didnt do it in his office coz if he did all the old headmasters wud have overheard it... another clue is when dumbledore didnt want harry to help him that night he died coz he knew that wud ruine theyre plan (Snape).... think about it harry can take some of those death eaters and u cant say that dumbledore is that weak that he wouldnt be able to fight of atleast 1 of them....
I hope they don't return because they always hold Harry back. In the new book, he is going to be a free man/wizard and they will try and tell him what to do. And they wont want him to go fight Voldemort alone unless Dumbledore does let him.
The books have been full of corny stuff before, I don’t see why it would stop now. Plus with all the clues left behind it would make only make sense. _________________
I have no idea. Like I said, I don't want him to come back. I mean, it would give Harry more pressure on how he returned, when this whole book, he should be thinking about Horcruxes and LV.

So you wouldn’t like the ending, even though you have no idea what it would be like…
If D does come back, it’ll be near the end, when Harry needs help from everyone. _________________

Personally, I believe DD will stay in the background until the last battle with LV. He may then come to Harry's aide and he might even really die then. Who Knows! _________________ You're just jealous cause the voices only talk to me!
Well, we have had this discussion about the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and some people didn't like it how they killed Aslan but then he came back.
But you see Alsan was resurrected from the dead; on the other hand D could just be faking his death. So he never really died unlike Alsan who did. _________________
Well there is no proof that Dumbledore is faking his death do you have no facts to support your opinion...
There called Theories for a reason. If you read through the thread you’d see that people usually get facts from the book to support their theories. _________________
