I was just talking about holiday movies with someone and was wondering... what is your favorite holiday movie? You know, the one you have to watch every year because it's tradition... or the one that never fails to put you in the holiday spirit.

If I left your favorite movie off your list, I'm really sorry. There are so many holiday movies out there... I just threw in a few. If I put them all in, the list would be endless. So please don't be vexed if I left out your favorite holiday movie.

I picked Nightmare Before Christmas because that is an awesome movie. Next would prolly be The Santa Clause. or rudolph, or frosty, or the grinch. I love Christmas movies. Did you know that HP is considered a christmas movie on the ABC Family channel? Yep. they play it every year during th 25 days of christmas.

Yeah, they keep playing that commercial over and over again... with the same line from Ron "Happy Christmas, Harry!"

The Family Man with Nicolas Cage and Tea Leone. Its not really a christmas movie per say but it takes place around Christmas season and is a great family movie.

ooo yes Muppet Christmas Carol is my fave. but gin...which christmas carol do you mean? there are so many versions. I never really like the mickey one, then there's this old one we always watch thats great. where scrooge says "I must stand on my head!" rofl!

anyway out of those I picked Its a Wonderful Life...though it always bored me as a kid. now I love it. and which grinch are you speaking of? I love the cartoon but the movie looks to scary to consider watching Shocked I see commercials and I'm like...wtf? way to kill a classic.

I never watched Its a Wonderful Life until about 2 years ago. I don't regret putting this one off until recently because like you, Arabella, I love it these days, but I don't think I would appreciate it in my younger years. I can really relate to George Bailey and how, as an adult, he has to make choices and sacrifices, many of which are worth it in the end.

The cartoon Grinch rocks, but I also think the live action version (esp Jim Carrey as the Grinch) is scary. ha

In case any of you were wondering... this thing wouldn't let me post any more poll options... Originally I was going to put everything in... but yeah, I kept having to make cuts.

And so you know, these are some of the options I ended up deleting...

Babes in Toyland
Frosty the Snowman
Holiday Inn
Home Alone
Muppets Christmas (one of my favorites, I didn't think anyone else loved it or I would have definitely left it up)
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
The Polar Express

And as for which version I meant, again, I was pressed for space. You can just put the specifics in your post.

Holiday Inn is pretty good but White Christmas is better. either way its not Christmas without Bing Crosby.

White Christmas was probably on my original list, too. After I brainstormed as many as i could, I went on to a bunch of Christmas sites and copied+pasted a bunch of Christmas movie titles.

This was a really hard choice, but I chose It's a Wonderful Life. That one really gives you that christmas-sy feeling inside.

I know, I love how they take the one scene that is Christmasy and play basically all of it during the comerical.

Anyways... I really can't pick because there isn't a holiday movie that i don't love. It's a wonderful life is amazing, but so are all the cartoon ones!

Tough choice. I'm gonna have to put 5 because it's impossible to just choose 1.

1. A Smokey Mountain Christmas
2. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
3. A Christmas Story
4. Love Actually
5. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

Well, it takes place at Christmas time... but I dunno if I would consider it a Christmas movie... I guess it's all a matter of opinion, though. The movie does have some good themes in it, though... and it does explore people's feelings during the holidy rush.

Love, Actually is a christmas movie. It has that basic theme of togetherness, and it centers around christmas time. All of these movies have events that aren't just christmas related, but christmas ties it all together. We are constantly reminded of Christmas in Love, Actually.
